Commun Chfeu Sa Soupe (2005/UGLY POP)
PUNKROCK. Four tracks of snotty, abrasive hardcore punk from this new Montreal, Canada outfit. INEPSY folks are involved but this is a rougher attack with no metal or crust influence, just angry pure punk rock inspired by UK82 and early US hardcore.

PUNK. This is the 2nd release from these Montreal punkers! C.C.S.S. was originally the side project of Steve and Sam from INEPSY. They decided to dedicate their inspiration to late '77s and early '80s punk-rock. C.C.S.S. reminds of early UK punk ala ONE WAY SYSTEM and better G.B.H. mixed up with Americans like CRUCIFX, THE GERMS or even the DEAD BOYS. C.C.S.S. is the most original thing to have come out of the crust-punk scene in recent years. This new 7" includes 3 super catchy songs and a very good coverversion of "Hate the police” from the DICKS. Get it now or buy it later from my friend Ebay!

god, guts, guns and more (2010/MORE THAN A WITNESS)
HARDCORE. Legions of hardcore diehards would argue that C.I.A.'s "god, guns, guts" 7" is one of the best hardcore 7"s to ever be released. Originally self-released in 1983, the 6 songs on the original 7" are blasts of driving, intelligent and furious hardcore. This deluxe reissue adds 5 original 7" session outtakes that have never been heard until now along with several other previously unreleased essential demos recorded just before the 7" came out, plus 2 tracks recorded live at the Anthrax club in Connecticut in 1983.

HARDCORE. Like most young hardcore bands of today, C.O.P.’s sophomore release shows us a faster, more intense and musically complicated band that has gotten better with time. The lyrics have matured and they have shed the catchiness of the first ep to bring a brutal slab of so-cal hardcore. Take the nardcore sound of their 1st 7" and the rapid-fire precision of POISON IDEA, NEON CHRIST, MECHT MENSCH and you have the new C.O.P. 7". Although the songs are faster, tighter, and angrier each song stands out, definitely not another hardcore record that sounds like one long song.

HARDCORE. C.O.P. is a young '80s style hardcore group who are based out of Riverside California. Classic nardcore at its finest, raw, rude, and overflowing with a bad attitude. Their sound is compared to old Mystic hardcore groups such as STALAG 13, R.K.L., and ILL REPUTE. This is very good, high quality hardcore.

PUNK-ROCK. Let it be known that the recipe for a hard-knocking, non-fronting hardcore 7" is as easy as pie. Add 50 years worth of pedigree via Brooks Headley's time in U.O.A., BORN AGAINST, (YOUNG) PIONEERS, and WRANGLER BRUTES, Dean's efforts in WIVES and NO AGES, Cundo's sentences in NAZTI SKINZ and WRANGLER BRUTES, and finally Michelle's terms in MIKA MIKO and LE FACE, bake for 5 hours in L.A.'s MacArthur Park during 100 degree weather, and quickly press record on the tape machine. They crank out punk-rock infused with a heavy dose of themselves.

EMO-HARDCORE. After the masterpiece, "The deconstruction" one of New York's most talented and most intense hardcore outfits returns with 6 songs, that mark yet another step in the development of THE CABLE CAR THEORY. With straight rhythms and more melodic song-writing the band still manages to authentically channel their energy and aggression into their songs. The band's musical aspiration for this record was to create a symbiosis of the power of the UNBROKEN classic "Life.love.regret." and the unique sound of FUGAZI's masterpiece, "Steady diet of nothing" and the result is impressive. With "Fables and fictions.." the band establishes itself as one the most unique and honest hardcore bands of today.

EMO-HARDCORE. The music that appears on "The deconstruction" is at times earnest, at times brutal, but always familiar- both engaging and challenging the listener. Their commitment to maintaining the purity of their sound is evident on such standout tacks as "Nakama", the album's opener, which combines as early U2-style guitar riff with an impassioned vocal delivery that is one half MIKE NESS and one half pure desperation. Good, aggressive, melodic music!

HARDCORE. On this all-out hardcore assault, Denver's CADAVER DOG hit hard with their debut of '80s-style anthems filled with gruff vocals, catchy three-chord hooks, and stomping mid-tempo breakdowns. Taking cues from NEGATIVE APPROACH, C.I.A. and NEGATIVE FX, these 5 tracks are timeless in their pissed off delivery. This chrome-pro-printed cassette release features deluxe inner wrap-around sleeves held with custom stickers and enclosed in an outer foldout cover. Limited to 500 copies.

HARDCORE. Debut 7-track 7" of knuckle-dragging, no nonsense, ignorant, moshable, fast hardcore here from this new-ish Bay-Area band. There's not one ounce of originality in these grooves, but if it ain't broke, don't fix it. Described as SSD covering Madball. Intro by currently-blowing-up Bay-Area rapper Dan Lactose of SPAZZ.
