GARAGE-PUNK. POST-ROCK. "The trouble we're in", the debut full-length from Milwaukee's CALL ME LIGHTNING blends spastic guitars with driving no-wave rhythyms. CALL ME LIGHTNING's sound brings together the more frantic moments of THE TALKING HEADS' early days with the freak-out riffs and wild vocal style of THE JESUS LIZARD. Throw in some lyric styling reminiscent of THE MINUTEMEN and you have a powerful combination. The three members of CALL ME LIGHTNING have been friends for nearly ten years. Having cut their teeth in the Milwaukee punk/hardcore scene (ex-members of HERO OF 100 FIGHTS, AKARSO, MANAGRA, and HAYMARKET RIOT), the friends decided it was time to start something together. "The trouble we're in" is thematically rooted in fantasy, revenge and paranoia. CALL ME LIGHTNING have channeled alcoholic dementia into ten songs that are intense, yet refreshing. OI/ÜINK-ROCK. This is us-pressing of this 1985 French punk and oi-classic. These Bourdeaux skunx are considered one of the archetypical French oi-punk bands alongside WARRIOR KIDS and KOMINTERN SECT. Their debut full-length, "realité" is considered by many to be one of the absolute best records of the French oi-üunk genre, with its melodic bass lines and angry, anthemic choruses. Before being re-recorded for this LP, an earlier version of one of their most recognized songs "pour la gloire", was the opening track on the now classic French punk compilation "chaos in france".
