CUTE LEPERS, THE
adventure time (2011/DAMAGED GOODS)
POP-PUNK. THE CUTE LEPERS have been on an archeological dig for the past years. They've been busy unearthing long lost punk and power-pop gems, running them through their own proprietary filter and spitting them back out at high speed. "adventure time" is the 3rd CUTE LEPERS full-length, and they continue to navigate the same territory pioneered by bands like THE BUZZCOCKS, THE BEAT and THE BOYS pioneered a generation before but with the quirks and crooked teeth you'd expect from two guys who used to be in THE BRIEFS. In addition to the usual CUTE LEPERS formula there are also a number of new subtle tweeks including the best saxophone use in a punk song. Like the last 2 releases this record is an undeniable ear worm.
CUTE LEPERS, THE
can't stand modern music (2008/DAMAGED GOODS)
POP-PUNK. Who are THE CUTE LEPERS i hear you ask...? Formed by Steve E Nix & Kicks from THE BRIEFS (who are taking a break) along with a couple friends. The 11 track debut full-length is a very poppy-punk mix, with influences from mod, power-pop and new-wave. Think of early THE CARS and THE BOYS with a good measure of THE CHORDS and of course a good overdose of THE BRIEFS. "Can't stand modern music" is so fuckin' good, catchy early '80s-esque pop-punk. So infectious, so well done, no lose purchase, get this if you have even the slightest interest! If you like THE BRIEFS you will dig this for sure!

Led by chief songwriter Steve from seminal Seattle band THE BRIEFS. No wonder, "smart accessories" follows the same path as previous releases. You'll get 13 new punk-pop anthems.

endless (2011/METASTASIS)
HARDCORE. The debut 7" from current Austin residents and Virginia expatriates, CUTTING LOSSES. "endless" is an 8 song record with negative views and crunchy riffs. CUZO
amor y muerte.. (2009/ALONE)
INSTRUMENTAL/STONER-ROCK. CUZO make instrumental psychedelic-stoner-rock. Contrary to what most sub genre dwellers tend to do, CUZO keep their songs rather short. By delivering an album that clocks in under 42min. this Barcelona trio keep their focus on and gets our attention. There are several moments when CUZO simply rock out where the band seems content delivering a circular heavy riff. Slowly and repetitively Cuzo turn the song inside out though. It’s a great move where plain rocking stoner shifts to post-rocking dwelling. LP comes with eyecatching artwork and gatefold cover and is limited to 500 copies!
CUZO
otros munos (2010/ALONE)
INSTRUMENTAL/STONER-ROCK. "otros munos" is the 2nd CUZO album and features WARCHETYPE members. CUZO explores 12 contemporary psychedelia tracks from a viewpoint of psych-rock and heavy-rock - if VOIVOD and ZOMBIE pratice together with BARONESS and PELICAN. Completely instrumental, well developed for restless ears with a cinematic touch. For fans of ZOMBI or EARTHLESS. Comes with nice designed gatefold sleeve.
CWILL
Trotz allem (2008/SKULD)
HARDCORE. CWILL Switzerland are back on track after a couple years of silence - and it was worth waiting for their best effort so far. "Trotz allem" is their 5th release since 1994. You'll get brutal and melodic hardcore with a modern twist of crust-elements. 9 songs showing again how amazing this band got over the years. Harsh and aggressive vocals over a thick and heavy wall of sound where the melodic violin fits in perfectly. Sweeping music with an eerie athmosphere and desperate well written lyrix that are more of a personal approach to political topics in a nicely put together sleeve. Welcome back!
