The end product is 4 ladies wailing through menacing blasting and grinding death with touches of traditional Japanese hardcore, complete with blazing fast drumming, relentless guitar work and blood curdling screaming vocals.

HARDCORE. Pittsburgh's F.L.A.K. offers a blistering fast hardcore LP that builds from the blunt guttural sounds of swedish and japanese hardcore to the riffage of Portland hardcore. Just flat, no frills, balls to the wall hardcore that is spat out in a venomous disdain for the real life. However F.L.A.K. also have an interest in the contemporary sound of Portland. F.L.A.K. are no TRAGEDY knock off - insted they incorporate some jangly bits and an ever so slight d-beat into a flat out galloping hardcore. FLAK are like a VOORHEES cover band from Portland. This lyrically bleak and dark sounding record has 11 tracks to follow up their self-titled 7".

PUNK-ROCK. Originally released on CD in 2006. The songs on this 14 track release are the demo versions for F.Y.P.'s the last album ("toys that kill"). Some of the songs never made it to the last album and one later became a "toys that kill" song.

INDIE-POP. This is the follow up to DELSOL's 2004 debut "no time for sorrows" and it sees her continue her blend of '60s swing and cheeky euro-pop. She has a wonderfully playful voice that works best when sung in her native French tongue. These are simple songs but it's their simplicity that charms and the swinging nostalgia that dominates much of the record is in no way contrived. Whether it's Hawaiian style guitars, acid rhythms or foot-tappingly chirpy organs, DELSOL's achingly sweet tales of love lost and found are stunningly addictive. One glimpse of her voice will have you smitten and your heart will be forever hers.

The band played a defining role in the hardcore scene of the late '80s and early '90s, turning out furious tunes at breakneck tempos and whipping crowds nationwide into a fine froth before calling it quits in 1993. This career spanning retrospective containing 31 songs plus an insane DVD of various live performances, photos and whatnot proves once again that you can't go wrong with Cleveland.
