deliverance (2012/MUSIC ON VINYL)
DEATH/PROGRESSIVE-METAL. "deliverance" is OPETH's 6th studio album, following the band's highly successful 2001 album, "blackwater park". It was recorded at the same time as "damnation". These albums were originally intended to be released as a double album but in the end they decided to release them separately. The 2 albums contrast starkly with one another, purposely dividing the band's 2 most prevalent styles, as "deliverance" is considered to be one of the band's heaviest albums, whereas "damnation" experiments with a much mellower progressive rock-influenced sound. Available on 180gr vinyl.

DEATH/PROGRESSIVE-METAL. The band's roots in the doom-laden shade of occult-infused Scandinavian death-metal and dark romanticism are undeniable and will never elicit apology. But the transcendent emotional and melodic heights achieved on the brilliantly titled tenth full-length OPETH album, "heritage", marks a new chapter in the storied quintet's career. Band leader, singer, guitarist, songwriter Mikael Åkerfeldt has reshaped the pathway forward for his artistic vehicle. This masterwork is a mind-boggling dense maze of tempo shifts, off-time signatures, percussive experimentation and warped rhythms. It is all expertly melded together by a myriad range of emotional outpouring and breezy melodic optimism which soars above the songs like a woodland spirit surveying its forest. There are multiple hints of darkness but "heritage" moves the band forward into broader dimensions.

DEATH/PROGRESSIVE-METAL. Re-issue of OPETH’s classic second album. The band have been a major musical influence over the last five years. They followed this album with "my arms, your hearse" which (along with their other releases!) proved to be a big seller. Again, this release has been completely re-mastered, the sleeve and artwork have been updated by the band and also included is a previously unavailable bonus track "eternal soul torture". This is a great chance for old and new fans to check the whole OPETH back catalogue which are (without doubt) essential additions to any metal fans collection!

STONER-ROCK. It’s easy to take ORANGE GOBLIN for granted. They ‘ve been around for a while now, ever since the bleary-eyed years of the stoner-rock explosion in the mid '90s. Their early sound was an aged, smoky blend of stoner-rock and psychedelia, but they ‘ve been leaning more and more towards their more aggressive heavy-metal and punk side. "a eulogy for the damned" certainly sounds loud, brash and beer-soaked, but it’s also very very catchy. The whole album is packed with tasty hard-rock riffs and soaring choruses. "a eulogy for the damned" is a hell of a record and song- for-song, their best since "the big black". Sit back, light up and enjoy. ORBIT THE EARTH, a band of 5 fellas you might already know their recent and/or former outfits (JUST WENT BLACK, RITUAL, EMPTY VISION, COBRETTI) – but with OTE all of them go total different musical ways. Think of the technical-finess of BOTCH teaming up with the dark atmosphere of JR. EWING and the heavyness of ISIS. somewhere near that "aphelion" will make its musical impression. You'll get 40min. of heavy, groove-infected atmospheric songs. Some take their time to develop into 13min. of sad melodies and bulldozer guitars. Vinyl includes a digital downloasd card.

SCREAMO-HARDCORE. ORCHID's 1st full-length from 1999 features 11 songs of their unique blend of emotive chaos and combustible hardcore. Blending it all together to create emo-violence. The cover design has an almost MISFITS inspired motif, and their lyrics are... well, they are ORCHID lyrics, which means that they are slightly emotive and vague while retaining a sense of purpose. ORCHID is all about blending; taking the best of several genres and putting it all together to get the ORCHID sound. Screaming vocals and harsh sounding music to keep the kids screaming and dancin' whether they are romulan emo kids or crusty klingons. Now available again on colored vinyl.

SCREAMO-HARDCORE. Available again on vinyl. ORCHID come right back at you with 10 blasts of chaotic fury and emotive noise. Tuneful, vicious, throbbing, and chaotic noisy hardcore played with finesse, heartfelt energy, and a wee bit of arty pretense. The ORCHID sound is even more aggressive than on their LP, and anyone that enjoyed any of their previous releases will be floored by these songs.

SCREAMO-HARDCORE. The final recordings of ORCHID. These 19 tracks are probably the best songs that ORCHID ever recorded. Their sound has been honed and defined, and the recording perfectly captures ORCHID's diverse combination of arty sensibilities, heartfelt emotive song writing, MOHINDER-esque drumming, frantic precision, controlled mayhem, and chaotic adrenaline. An excellent record that even surpasses their previous releases. Both the CD and LP come packaged in gatefold sleeves.
