Neues Album des Trios aus San Francisco. Fuer erstaunlich straighte Kost. Schon das Cover sieht irgendwie spirituell aus und auch musikalisch geht es sehr oft duester, ruhig zu, dazu traegt in erster Linie das Piano bei, das bei den meisten der 12 Stuecke zum Einsatz kommt. Dennoch kommen lautere Passagen nicht zu kurz, allerdings werden diese immer als Hoehepunkt eines Stueckes eingesetzt. Auch textlich wird die oskur poetische Schiene gefahren. Erinnert mich oft an NICK CAVE oder die FLAMING STARS.

At long last, this album consists of 4 cover songs, plus 4 rare tracks forming a comprehensive timeline from the band's beginning. This album includes 5 previously unreleased PLEASURE FOREVER tracks as well as 2 b-sides previously released on Sub Pop and 1 track from the out-of-print Buddyhead Gimme Skelter compilation. PLEASURE FOREVER was once known as SLAVES and all 3 members played previously in THE VSS.

PLUTOCRACY

GRINDCORE. PLUTOCRACY was a grindcore band from California and a major player in the West-Bay underground fast music scene. They existed from 1988-1993 and then reformed in 1998 to record this album to honor former bass player Dan "Zodiac Killer" who had sadly passed. This is a long-awaited re-pressing of this album, unfortunately following the death of another of the band's grindfathers, "Stinkweed Malone". Limited edition of 500 copies.

PUNK-ROCK. These early Vancouver punks released some pretty great records over their short career, but this 1978 debut will probably remain the classic 45 they'll be best known for. Nothing fancy, art-damaged or vicious here, just two near-perfect blasts of loud, snappy, melodic punk that's inspired countless bands since. Certainly not the rarest or most obscure record, but one that deserves to be readily available to anyone with a taste for quality punk-rock.

POST-ROCK. Sophomore release from Chicago's THE POISON ARROWS. Featuring former members of DON CABALLERO and ATOMBOMBPOCKETKNIFE, with appearances from THE BLACK HEART PROCESSION, DISAPPEARS, PONYS members, this 70min. unthinkable drama unfolds with a dark swagger. Every track was completed as a chapter in an overarching tale of lives falling apart, then reconstruction, then reflection, and finally a vow to move forward. With bass guitar as the lead instrument, THE POISON ARROWS don't skimp on the additional details - their signature bass playing is more inspiring than ever. Drums are nothing short of thunderous and keyboards are at their most abstract.

Though this Boston band has already called it quits, the 4 tracks are sure to leave folks wanting more. Featuring ex-CUT THE SHIT members. POISON CONTROL offers a solid mix of mid-tempo US-hardcore with a serious REGULATIONS and early Southern-California feel.
