POLAR BEAR CLUB
chasing hamburg (2009/BRIDGE NINE)
EMO/INDIE-PUNK. POLAR BEAR CLUB is one of the best new band of 2009. The only other bands that come to mind who have received such intense praise and excitement after only one album are AGAINST ME and THE GASLIGHT ANTHEM, but POLAR BEAR CLUB is a totally different deal. "chasing hamburg", is a powerful display of an incredible band that is bound by no genre such as rock or post-hardcore or punk, and, at the end of the day, their unique sound can only be described as "for fans of POLAR BEAR CLUB". Colored vinyl comes with gatefold-cover and includes a digital download card.

POLAR BEAR CLUB
the redder, the better (2009/BRIDGE NINE)
MELODIC-HARDCORE/PUNK. "the redder, the better" showcases the band's not-so-humble beginnings, as this was their MCD release before the critically acclaimed full-length back in 2008. POLAR BEAR CLUB effortlessly seams together the sounds of '90s punk and hardcore - akin to bands like LIFETIME and HOT WATER MUSIC - with a refreshingly 2000's style and their own personal twist. "the redder, the better" is an inevitable classic that's sure to please fans of many different music genres - punk, hardcore, emo and everything else in between. Colored vinyl includes a digital download card.

amor y guerra (2011/SALAD DAYS/YOUNGBLOOD)

POLICE & THIEVES
fracturing (2011/YOUNGBLOOD)
EMOCORE. Washington, DC's POLICE & THIEVES return with 7 songs of fast, melodic hardcore combining influences from their hometown with elements of post-punk, having just as much in common with DAG NASTY, MARGINAL MAN and VERBAL ASSAULT as well as later-era SEAWEED. Limited edition of 400 colored copies. Vinyl includes a MP3 download card.
POLICE & THIEVES / REMISSION
split (2011/AMENDMENT)
HARDCORE/EMOCORE. For POLICE & THIEVES, this is their 1st official recording since their "amor y guerra" 7" in 2008. The songs on the split maintain their mid-tempo, melodic, '80s DC sound from their previous releases, while adding faster parts to the songs, giving them a more dynamic and powerful feel. For South America's REMISSION, they recorded these 2 new songs shortly after their "winds of promise" 7". Their style has been influenced by VERBAL ASSAULT and DAG NASTY but they continue to put their own stamp of melodic hardcore over this classic style.
POLICE BASTARD / WAR//PLAGUE
split (2011/PROFANE EXISTENCE)
CRUST-PUNK. Profane Existence has been given the opportunity to release this split album by 2 bands made up of weathered veterans from both sides of the Atlantic: POLICE BASTARD hailing Birmingham, UK (formed by ex-DOOM members) and play a combination of classic peace-punk with thrashier crust-punk influences and include crustified versions of RUDIMENTARY PENI and MOB classics with their contribution. WAR//PLAGUE hail from Minneapolis (ex-PROVOKED, CALLOUSED, PONTIUS PILATE etc.) and play a deeply moody style of crust punk with rhythmatic tribal undertones. Both bands have previous releases under their belts, but this is their 1st. appearance on Profane Existence.
POLICE BEAT
Time for coffee (2004/THINK FAST)
OLD-SCHOOL HARDCORE. POLICE BEAT started in 2002 in New Bedford, Massachusetts with a goal in mind to play old-school hardcore in the vein of the bands that paved the way before them. Songs so reminscent of old-school Boston, it would make Springa proud! Sure enough, these songs have more energy than a cup of coffee, POLICE BEAT rip through these songs of blistering hardcore. This CD version exclusively includes the original demo and live tracks - 23 songs in all!
POLICY OF THREE
An anthology (2005/EBULLITION)
EMOCORE. POLICY OF THREE was one of the great (emo) hardcore bands of the late '80s and early '90s. Their sound was passionate and compeling with a sound that was cuttinge edge at the time; heavily influenced by the late '80s Dischord hardcore sound. At the time emotive hardcore was something new and exciting. It was all about passion, anger, and was really just another aspect of hardcore... long before emo was turned into frivolous pop punk. This double CD anthology captures all of their studio material (17 tracks) as well as 6 live tracks recorded in Germany in 1995 (a couple of which have never been heard before). POLICY OF THREE helped to define this sound/genera and this release is an amazing testament to one of the great hardcore bands from that time. The CD comes in a gatefold jacket that was hand screened on chipboard, and there is a nice insert booklet included with lyrics and info about the band.
POLITE SLEEPER
lake effect (2009/SABOTAGE/EXPECT CANDY)
POST-ROCK. Following 2008’s critically acclaimed "seens" full-length the latest is less a stopgap and more a proper introduction for the Brooklyn trio after spending much of last year abroad. Gone are the banjo and pedal steel interludes, the erratic arrangements; gone are the sad sack lullabies and 2min. strummers. Enter Mellotron drones, three part harmonies and at the core a rhythm section that still drives each narrative with a confidence to say that less is truly more. Somewhere Britt Daniel of SPOON just nodded. The 9 tracks on "lake effect" are equal parts unique and obtuse, poetically indifferent and as plain as the Midwestern roots of the members themselves. LP includes a MP3 download card.
POLLUTION
n.s. drugs (2010/DESENSITIZED)
HARDCORE. POLLUTION throw in 5 tracks of heavy, disgusting hardcore played by guys who have been around long enough to show you how to do it right. The demo-tape version has already been making multiple top 10 of 2009 lists. For fans of HAIL MARY, BORN AGAINST, and DIE KREUZEN. Features members of VILLAINS and UNEARTHLY TRANCE.

PONYS, THE
Laced with romance (2004/IN THE RED)
Alles klar?
