demo (2013/FASHIONABLE IDIOTS)
HARDCORE-PUNK. WILD CHILD had such a raging demo that it should be pressed to wax and available to the masses. Thanks to a swift kick in the ass by Mammoth Sound Mastering this thing rips a lot harder and will melt yer record needle instead of clog up that old reel to reel cassette deck, cool. WILD CHILD plays unhinged hardcore-punk that may bring to mind sounds of "boston not la", but with an Los Abngeles vocal delivery ala Darby snarl.
HARDCORE-PUNK. Coming off of a stellar demo in 2011 (Fashionable Idiots going to release it on vinyl), Minnesota's WILD CHILD deliver 6 tracks of fast, snotty, manic hardcore-punk that's reminiscent of DEEP WOUND. Vinyl includes a digital download card.
s/t (2008/PLASTIC BOMB)
PUNK-ROCK.
gnuggets (2010/DIRTY WATER)
GARAGE-PUNK. "gnuggets" compiles, the complete WILDEBEESTS 7" releases from 1994 to 2006, many of which are nearly impossible to get! All of the tracks chart their inability and disinterest to move forwards in musical style and panache yet the recordings display an almost mind boggling variety in both sound and choice of covers - proving very much that the WILDEBEESTS will tackle almost anything in their own inimitable style! Featuring members of THE MASONICS, THE KAISERS, HOLLY GOLIGHTLY, THE POP RIVETS, MILKSHAKES and DELMONAS.
POST-PUNK. On their 3rd full-length, the members of Baltimore’s WILDERNESS have delivered on their name’s promise yet again. Forget the shimmering Inner Harbor and look more toward industrial wasteland surrounding a city: abandoned train yards, derelict warehouses, or just rolling emptiness stretching past the horizon. More than just an album, "(k)no(w)here" is a dynamic symphony. Rather than simply songs, the tracks are movements in a larger piece, seamlessly flowing into and over each other. WILDERNESS’ exploration of icy post-punk that falls tonally between PIL and U2.
carpe diem (2001/REVELATION)
POST-HARDCORE. The highly anticipated 3rd album from this Sacramento band. Taking metal and hardcore to an abstract level similar to DEFTONES, this record is honest, emotional, and chaotic.
POST-HARDCORE. "whvn" is a sonic pummeling of metal-hardcore-noise that rivals virtually any other album out now that dares to call itself heavy. Make no mistake, WILL HAVEN has broken new ground with this record. The music that WILL HAVEN creates is a whole new breed of power, heaviness, and purity that must be heard to be understood. WILL HAVEN's lyrics are passionate, emotional and rival that of any band in any genre.
WILL TO LIVE
Tested and true (2006/SPOOK CITY)
HARDCORE. Proudly proclaiming that hardcore is alive and well in Texas, WILL TO LIVE did nothing short of bringing to life a scene that is just now beginning to receive national and international attention. With a sound that is a mix of traditional hardcore with the full on abrasiveness of metal, WILL TO LIVE appeals to fans of JUDGE, HATEBREED and MADBALL and even SLAYER. Loud and aggressive music accentuated by thought-provoking and reflective lyrics is a combination that not only united the few scattered hardcore fans in Texas, but also attracted followers from the more mainstream metal and punk sectors.
justice for no one (2010/HAVOC)
HARDCORE. WILLFUL NEGLECT hailed from the East Side of St. Paul and released a "self titled" MLP in 1982 and the "justice for no one" MLP in 1983. Their style was fast aggressive hardcore with some high energy rock influence thrown in. Think of WHITE CROSS or early VERBAL ABUSE. This re-issue compiles both MLP's on one LP under license from the bands own label.
Hate Culture (2008/VICTORY)
GOTHIK-EMO/ROCK. AIDEN frontman Wil Francis has never been a shy character. WILLIAM CONTROL, his new solo project, is still cut from the punk-rock fabric he is known for, but it is now smothered with black latex and clove smoke and taken to the S&M after-party. Combined with heavy drum machines, looping synthesizers and Wil's domineering voice, "Hate culture" creates the perfect atmosphere for those who are ready to discover a whole new realm of dark-rock.
goodnight (2008/HALDERN POP)
SINGER/SONGWRITER. This album is a confessional: a heartfelt outpouring of love and regret that’s so personal that it almost makes you feel like you’re prying just by listening. Fitzsimmons’ quiet voice, with its very accent and careful tone, softly delivers lyrics that are both elegant and - in the best way - simple. Fitzsimmons doesn’t waste his time with flowery verse or esoteric word-play: he speaks honestly, and the result is astonishing. The instrumentation is as understated as ever. For the most part, an acoustic guitar with very little else; the occasional quiet piano, banjo or glockenspiel, and the slight electronic edge that is Fitzsimmons’ trademark. This is, in every sense, a very modest affair. This 150gr DoLP feature 3 bonus tracks and a poster.
WILT / BÄDR VOGU
SLUDGE/CRUST-HARDCOE/METAL. Seattle joins forces with West-Oakland in an all out mind-ripping booze fueled assault on the masses! BÄDR VOGU slaps you around like the fool you are with their own style of blues crust, while WILT slow-grinds their way into your souls leaving an all to real trail of filth in their wake. A truly fitting soundtrack for your descent into the abyss. For fans of BOLT THROWER, EYEHATEGOD, NEUROSIS and DAMAD. Vinyl comes with posater-inlay and includes a digital download card.
WINCHESTER CLUB, THE
negative liberty (2011/EXILE ON MAINSTREAM)
POST-ROCK. Drawing on inspiration from Adam Curtis's highly acclaimed documentary series "the trap", the resulting new album is an overall darker and heavier offering that nevertheless maintains THE WINCHESTER CLUB’s trademark melodic drive. They still boasts its original and unique line with 2 bass players, 2 guitarists. Preferring to be seated on stage and accompanied by a backdrop of visuals, the sheer intensity and connection of their demanding shows convinced THE WINCHESTER CLUB that this new release should be recorded as a live album. "negative liberty" certainly demands the listeners attention. From the opening notes the music grabs you by the throat pushes you up against the wall and for the following hour resolutely refuses to let go.
DOOM-METAL. WINDHAND takes apocalyptic blues, puts it into a punk bong, lights it with a SABBATH lighter and exhales rad clouds made out of fuzzed out bliss. WINDHAND are way more than a band that you should be on the look out for, they are group of humans that will change the way your hear doom. Former members of FACEDOWNINSHIT and ALABAMA THUNDER PUSSY.
WINDMILLS BY THE OCEAN
II (2011/ROBOTIC EMPIRE)
POST-ROCK/DRONE/INSTRUMENTAL. Years in the making, WINDMILLS BY THE OCEAN thankfully return from obscurity to deliver an unexpected and stunning second album. Awash in waves of droney guitars, lush melodies and a vastly increased use of vocals (which were almost non-existent on the debut), WINDMILLS BY THE OCEAN have created a truly hypnotic sophomore album. Reaching far beyond the limits of post-rock, these 5 varied tracks shift through the spectrum of being haunting, triumphant, captivating, oppressive and completely uplifting.
