As an unconscious reaction to overt falsity and the current stream of commerce, Decahedron lashes out to create a political record that lacks neither intelligence nor passion. Lally's trademark sinewy bass lines and Hamacher's lockstep drumming are the perfect foil for Cinca's taut guitar work. This CD (collecting all 3 7"s - "you're screwed", "manic euphoria", and "paranoid futures") release is a comprehensive presentation of DEEP SLEEP, manifesting how the band has honed and developed their infectious sound with each release. "three things at once" contains 21 songs in all of early '80s California hardcore-punk worship, complete with lyrics and liner notes, this anthology spans the 1st three years of this Baltimore's band's existence.
DEEP WOUND

HARDCORE. This is the official reissue of the original DEEP WOUND record, available for the first time on CD, complete with previously unreleased bonus tracks for a total of 27 songs. Colored vinyl with just 24 tracks are available, too! DEEP WOUND was a part of the Western Massachusetts hardcore scene in the early '80s and was the original musical outlet for Lou Barlow and J. Mascis who would go on to form DINOSAUR JR. and SEBADOH. But these songs are about as far away musicially as you can get from those bands, sounding more like SIEGE, DYS and SSD. DEEP WOUND were a really fucking good hardcore band. Living in this society has left a DEEP WOUND. Get used to it.
DEERHOOF
deerhoof vs. evil (2011/POLYVINYL)
NOISE/INDIE-ROCK. Self-recorded, mixed, and mastered in rehearsal spaces and band members’ basements with no engineers or outside input, "deerhoof vs. evil" dresses up DEERHOOF’s wellknown recklessness in a newfound elastic groove - one filled with big-hit choruses and exuberantly unfamiliar colors. The musical equivalent of hormones raging out of control, the record explodes out of the speakers with its gawky triumph and inflamed sentimentality. This is DEERHOOF's ode to their own adolescence. milk man (2011/POLYVINYL )
NOISE/INDIE-ROCK. DEERHOOF's "milk man" is being reissued on vinyl. The starting point for "milk man" was a cartoon character created by Japanese artist Ken Kagami. In contrast to the earnest guitar rock that predominated on their previous album "apple o'", "milk man" featured a broad palette of orchestral colors, echoes of music theater and camp, polished and gaudy arrangements, Stravinskian harmonies, and a more stylized. Limited to 1000 copies on 180gr banana colored vinyl includes a MP3 download card of the album and new mixes and sequencing not included on the original LP.

NOISE/INDIE-ROCK. Say what you will about DEERHOOF, but they know how to write a beautiful song. And "offend maggie" is all the more beautiful for the fact that it seems to come out of nowhere. For all its sparkling musicanship, it sounds casually tossed off like it was nothing at all. It's a new sound for the band as much as it's a new sound for pop music. For those who have been following their remarkable career, "offend maggie" represents another DEERHOOFian high-water mark, even as it shows another abrupt shift in direction. One listen and you'll know "offend maggie" could only be DEERHOOF. Two listens and you'll be in love.

HARDCORE. Massachusetts-based Defeater has been hailed as "a new artistic peak for hardcore" by Punknews.org and their sophomore full-length release, "Empty Days & Sleepless Nights," further cements the accolade. "Empty Days & Sleepless Nights" is a 14-song double LP (single CD) and the first four tracks showcase a new, acoustic side of the band that sounds a lot like Rocky Votolato and Ryan Adams. However, they return to their hardcore roots and deliver ten huge-sounding, heavy and catchy tracks to round out the album.
