CD/DVD
FAITH / VOID
split (2008/DISCHORD)
HARDCORE. This record is nothing short of amazing, teaming 2 of the best hardcore bands from the early Washington DC scene. VOID is unlike anything else before or after - totally spastic and disjointed hardcore-punk that often seems like it's about to fall apart into noisy chaos only to go blasting back into anthemnic hardcore. On the FAITH side you get a similarly diverse, if more standard set of DC hardcore. These guys are so underappreciated it's sad. MINOR THREA's influence is still obvious but FAITH definately had their own thing going on. Vinyl was remastered and recut and includes a digital download card.
FAKE PROBLEMS
it's great to be alive (2009/SIDE ONE DUMMY)
INDIE/EMO-ROCK. Growing up is never easy, but when you’re in a band it often seems impossible. Make the same record twice and you’re chastised for being repetitive. Luckily Naples’s FAKE PROBLEMS have never had to deal with this dilemma because with each release they’ve not only organically reinvented their sound. FAKE PROBLEMS’ unique brand of emo- and indierock finally shaking off the insecurity and soul-searching of adolescence and sees the band embracing a sense of perspective. Floridians FAKE PROBLEMS are just about ready to make waves with their unique brand of indie-rock with the occasional horn thrown in, bringing to mind a style and mood of bands like CURSIVE, AGAINST ME, GASLIGHT ANTHEM and MOUDEST MOUSE.
FAKE PROBLEMS
real ghosts caught on tape (2010/SIDE ONE DUMMY)
INDIE/EMO-ROCK. "real ghosts caught on tape", the bands sophomore release, is a collection of 11 songs that draws influence from a wide variety indie-rock, 60's girl groups, and a wall of production style that sees the Naples, Florida-based act lifting their artistic veil to show the raw emotion that lies beneath. "real ghosts caught on tape" is the perfect soundtrack for embarking out of darkness and into the light, showcasing a band that has grown to new artistic heights. Produced by Ted Hutt (The Gaslight Anthem, Lucero).
FALCON, THE
Unicornography (2006/RED SCARE)
Forming a melodic punk band from Chicago comes with great expectations, considering the recent musical history of the Windy City, but The Falcon step right up to the plate and deliver on 'Unicornography'. Fans of The Lawrence Arms, Alkaline Trio, and Rise Against will not be disappointed by this release. 11 tracks.
FALL OF TROY, THE
doppelganger (2005/EQUAL VISION)
POST-HARDCORE. Seattle's THE FALL OF TROY's 2nd album. Melodic, uplifting vocals and harmonies, side-by-side with tortured, assaulting screams. Mathematically precise rhythms and complex fretwork, giving way to loose jam-inspired divergences. Pop-meets-punk-meets-metal-meets-rock in the unlikeliest of places. THE FALL OF TROY, skittering off defiantly in one direction after another, refusing to stick to any one established road. If it sounds like it all adds up to chaos, that's because it often does - but only in the same beautiful way as our own everyday experience.
FALL OF TROY, THE
in the unlikely event (2010/EQUAL VISION)
PROGRESSIVE-ROCK. Mukilteo's own THE FALL OF TROY have truly broken their musical mold with the band's 4th full-length, "in the unlikely event". In fact, by combining elements of rock, punk and metal, the trio haven't just reinvented their own sound with the album, but have raised the bar for progressive music in general. The album sees the act fully realizing their sound and proving how versatile they are as they as tackle everything from double-timed ragers to heartfelt ballads with equal confidence.
FALL OF TROY, THE
manipulator (2007/EQUAL VISION)
POST-HARDCORE. Now with all 3 members at the tender age of 21, THE FALL OF TROY's album "manipulator", is their future. Having built upon the band's reputation for lightning fast guitar riffs, raw screams, catchy choruses, and a volatile rhythm section, "manipulator" finds THE FALL OF TROY combining metal with progressive, rock with blues, and past with present to once again push themselves beyond. The heavy parts are heavier, the poppy parts are poppier, and the overall dynamics make the album impossible to classify.
FALL OF TROY, THE
s/t (2006/EQUAL VISION)
POST-HARDCORE. THE FALL OF TROY have come a long way from their beginnings and this re-issue of their first album is a testament to their continued musical push and a look into their music before the explosion of "doppelganger". This self-titled release is one of the most sought-after among THE FALL OF TROY fans and continues to fuel their following. Chaotic and volatile guitar gymnastics coupled with electricity give you a peek into a band ready to explode onto the scene. This release will help fans complete their collection of this highly influential band.

FALL RIVER
lights out (2005/SCHIZOPHRENIC INC.)
TECH/MATH-HARDCORE. FALL RIVER's "lights out" is complete fucking mayhem released on a disc! A sick production makes this record unique and special. Drums, bass and guitar deliver the ammunition needed in order to handle this type of tech-core, lots of twists and passion for the exceptional. Influences can be mentioned from bands, such as THE DILLINGER ESCAPE PLAN, DROWNINGMAN and of course the lunatics in CONVERGE. Different from these kings of techcore, there’s the fact that the vocalist is female. There's a good vice-versa effect between the lyrics and the music! After all it’s rock ‘n’ roll...
FALL SILENT
drunken violence (2002/REVELATION)
HARDCORE. After releasing the discography CD entitled "six years in the desert" on Revelation in 2001, FALL SILENT didn't waste anytime entering the studio to record their brand new release "drunken violence". Armed with their best songs yet and recorded by Eric Stenman (Deftones, 7 Seconds), FALL SILENT unleashes their best work yet. Early reviews of the record have compared the band to MALEVONT CREATION, COALESCE, RORSCHACH, and CROWBAR with a strong hardcore foundation. Expect much more from this band in the future, they will not rest until everyone is aware.
FALL SILENT
six year in the desert (2001/REVELATION)
HARDCORE. Hailing from Reno, FALL SILENT could possibly be the angriest band around, musically and lyrically. FALL SILENT has progressed over the years, as any good band does. With this new album the standard hardcore formula gone - added were elements of more complex metal bands such as CROWBAR and MESHUGGA. The band was now using odd timing, better dynamics, more technical guitar parts, and the vocals and lyrics manage to convey all the emotion and rage people have come to expect. "six years in the desert" contains the "life: beautiful but heartless" 7", "nineteenhundrednintyseven" 7" and the "no strength to suffer" CD. Value for money!
FALLEN FROM THE SKY
tonight we radiate (2008/EULOGY)
POP-PUNK. South Florida's FALLEN FROM THE SKY have done a lot in the 6 years they've been around. This full-length is teeming with catchy albeit screamed hooks, gang vocals and crushing guitars. The rhythm section is kept concise and fast paced. If you're into fast, melodic, gravelly voiced bands like STRIKE ANYWHERE, early RISE AGAINST or the uplifting posi-natured tendencies of SET YOUR GOALS "Tonight we radiate" will leave you satisfied. FALLEN FROM THE SKY are anything but your typical pimped out plug in MTV band.
