Drawing other comparisons from the raw bitterness of BLACK FLAG to the rock and roll solos of MOTÖRHEAD, HOUR OF THE WOLF are one of the most promising up and coming punk bands in the country. The 7 tracks are packed in a nice designed booklet. Aggression, power, punk. There are mistakes, off notes, miss-hits, and out of tune instruments. This is the way music is actually played. The way it sounds is the way it is going to be heard.

HARDCORE. HOW IT ENDS' "beloved" full-length with 11 tracks (38min) is nothing else than a masterpiece within todays hardcore styles. It's one of the few metallic hardcore records that blends out from the crowd, both vocally, lyrically and musicwise! HOW IT ENDS plays honest and aggressive hardcore, just like heavyweights TERROR or SHATTERED REALM (their singer, Joe is having a lot of vocalparts on “beloved”). It’s pissed off music with lots of double pedal bass drumming and off beat rhythms and assaults of heavy and distorted riffs. It’s aggressive and furious, one of the basic elements in hardcore. This record is simply just evil to listen to, because you can feel the anger and frustration very well in the music! Comes in a nice digipack edition!

POWER-VIOLENCE HARDCORE. HUMMINGBIRD OF DEATH 1st full-length shows still fastcore but its also way more textured and stretched out influentially to deem it just a typical fastcore record. They still maintain the NO COMMENT, HELLNATION influence they have always (so have no fear) had as well as their CORRUPTED and NOOTHGRUSH influenced sludge bits but also incorporate sounds of thrashcore and death-metal ala early AUTOPSY, DEATH into this to really get what they're going for. "show us the meaning of haste" is one of the best full-lengths in faster extreme hardcore this year - no question!

PROGRESSIVE-HARDCORE. HUNDREDTH was spawned and fueled by righteous anger and packaged with their own brand of progressive-hardcore. Every lyric is raw and heartfelt, and is written for a reason. The band was once told that they sound like "the soundtrack to drowning", with a style that is both punishing and melodic, akin to SHAI HULUD, STRONGARM and LIFE IN YOUR WAY.

METALCORE. What the hell happened to this band? Their last album wasn't bad at all, but this one has so much more power. Starting off with a pummeling double bass (for an emo-influenced band) they set the tone for the rest of the album. A raging, schizophrenic blend of pitch-perfect vocal melodies, brutal beatdowns and killer pop hooks, THE HURT PROCESS are set to turn the hardcore scene with their 2nd full-length.
