LOST PATROL BAND
s/t (2005/BURNING HEART)
POWERPOP. Dennis Lyxzén, singer of THE (INTERNATIONAL) NOISE CONSPIRACY, returns again with his solo project. Now grown from THE LOST PATROL to THE LOST PATROL BAND, the third solo album of the former Refused singer documents another complete change in style; This selftitled album is all about punky powerpop - that forgotten sound of the late Seventies, early Eighties. It is a declaration of love to that sound, to the BUZZCOCKS, Elvis Costello, THE BEAT, THE NERVES,and the RAMONES. Single/video track: 'Golden Times'.
LOST PATROL, THE
Songs about running away (2003/BURNING HEART)
SINGER/SONGWRITER. DENNIS LYXZÈN’s solo project THE LOST PATROL and the 2003-released album 'Songs About Running Away' is musically far away from what you’re used to hear from Dennis Lyxzén, the front man in THE (INETNATIONAL) NOISE CONSPIRACY and previously REFUSED. Together with a bunch of friends (David Sandström (REFUSED/THE FACER), Stefan Granberg (RANDY) Lisa Miskovsky and others, Dennis went in to the studio and recorded twelve tracks. 'Songs About Running Away' is the result, the follow up to the debut album 'Songs In The Key Of Resistance' which were released on Startracks a couple of years ago.
LOVE IS RED
The hardest fight (2004/STILLBORN)
Gelungen!
LOVED ONES, THE
build and burn (2008/FAT)
PUNK-ROCK. "build & burn", THE LOVED ONES follow up to "keep your heart", is the product of over 2 years on the road, the addition of 2 new band members and the in-studio partnership between long-time friends. Hints of Americana rock 'n' roll with expanded instrumentation lay amongst the album's 10 tracks, highlighting a true progression in the band's sound and songwriting. The addition of Dave and Chris (both ex-THE EXPLOSION), on guitar and bass respectively, solidified the lineup moving towards the creation of "build & burn". LP version includes a digital download card.
LOVED ONES, THE
keep your heart (2006/FAT WRECK)
PUNK-ROCK. Thirteen songs of well-crafted and sincere pop-punk from ex-members of KID DYNAMITE, THE CURSE and TRIAL BY FIRE. "keep your heart" finds the band in full stride and firmly planted in musical greatness. Probably best described as punk 'n' roll, THE LOVED ONES guitar driven sound provides the perfect backdrop for front man David’s melodically gruff vocals. Think HOT WATER MUSIC, STRIKE ANYWHERE coming together to play in your bedroom!
Just breathe (2005/FERRET)
LOVEHATEHERO vocalist Pierrick Berube pours his heart out over ten songs of personal loss, tragedy, heartbreak and betrayal, and the strength to overcome them, in hopes that others will get his messages. While intricate guitar passages and metal-influenced leads are an added bonus to their musical style, LOVEHATEHERO puts their effort into music that drives and progresses seamlessly, and succeeds in capturing their listeners and making fans out of them.
White lies (2007/FERRET)
EMO/INDIE-ROCK. "'White Lies,' the new album by Lovehatehero, is not only a departure point for this young band, but in time, might well prove to be a departure point for the entire post-hardcore music scene. This album will mark Lovehatehero's territory in the new scene that is bubbling up in the wake of bands like Taking Back Sunday and Thursday. Their combination of pop-sensibility and stylistic toughness is unprecedented, resulting in an entirely memorable album, with songs you will find in your head for days and nights to come. Every tune hits the point where Pierrick Berube's voice launches the listener into that special place - of satisfaction, understanding, and emotional lift."
Axiom (2007/TEE PEE)
Axiom is rich with accomplished instrumentation and out-there dreamscapes, soaring melodies and lyrics filled with longing, introspection and extrospection.
c'mon (2011/SUB POP)
POST/INDIE-ROCK. "c'mon" is the shortest title of any LOW album, which seems fitting, as it also ranks among the most succinct and straightforward entries in their variegated discography. "c'mon" feels like a plea for humanity, decency and common sense in a world gone mad. Without curtailing their artistry, the trio has made one of its most accessible, affecting albums to date. Vinyl includes a digital download card.
drums and guns (2007/SUB POP)
POST/INDIE-ROCK. Formed in 1993, LOW is from Duluth, Minnesota. "drums and guns" is the band’s 8th full-length album. "drums and guns" features a number of songs that ardent LOW fans will recognize from the band’s recent live shows. These songs appear here in substantially altered forms, as though they’ve been taken apart and reassembled in striking new ways, or seen with new eyes. "drums and guns" possesses the unique, subtle beauty and power you've come to expect from LOW, but the record is also profoundly exciting in ways that it’s easy to forget music can be.
the invisible way (2013/SUB POP)
POST/INDIE-ROCK. Coincidentally, the release marks LOW's 20th anniversary as a band. Even at their most fitful, LOW’s songs have always coursed toward an aching, patient beauty. Each record trickles around spots of death and violence, harnessing repetition to achieve enigmatic profundities. While the connective tissue between the record’s highlights simmers at the same temperature as much of LOW’s back catalog, "the invisible way" flows as a satisfying whole. True to its penchant for understatement, Low has marked 2 decades and 10 albums with a humble, intimate full-length. Vinyl includes a digital download card.
The greatest of all lost arts (2008/FERRET)
INDIE/ALTERNATIVE-ROCK. As a misnomer to their sound, San Diego's LOWER DEFINITION are anything but low key. Just wrapping up in the studio with acclaimed producer Kris Crummet (Drop Dead, Gorgeous, etc.) the band are primed to release their full-length debut for Ferret Music. Their songs’ soaring melodies and vocal approach mesh power and catchiness. LOWER DEFINITION has a driving aggression that is more technically adept at distortion and multiplied fired riffs.
LOYAL TO THE GRAVE
still climbin', still believin' (2009/SURPRISE ATTACK)
HARDCORE. This us-pressing of LOYAL TO THE GRAVE's "still climbing', still believin" full-length CD is limited to 500 copies and comes with different artwork from the Japanese pressing. These guys have been at it for over 10 years, bringing a '90s style of chugging hardcore sounding like it could have come straight out of Syracuse a decade ago, akin to the sound of ANOTHER VICTIM.
1372 overton park (2009/UNIVERSAL)
PUNK-ROCK. LUCERO's 6th studio album and major label debut, "1372 overton park", was produced by Ted Hutt (The Gaslight Anthem) and features horn arrangements by legendary Memphis session player Jim Spake, marking a decided turn toward the Memphis soul sound that has long informed the band's records from afar. Vinyl version includes a MP3 download card.
women & work (2012/ATO)
PUNK-ROCK. Few bands embody the sound and work ethic of Memphis, the way LUCERO has been, with a country-tinged indie spirit and breakneck touring schedule. "women & work" shows an impressive step forward in both songwriting and development of the band's signature rock and soul sound. Vinyl version includes full album on CD.
