REFUSED
songs to fan the flames of discontent (2011/BURNING HEART)
POST-HARDCORE. The 2nd full-length release from Sweden's REFUSED, "songs to fan the flames of discontent" was released in 1996 to uniform praise as the group's worldwide following grew in both numbers and intensity. Consistently aggressive, the staccato guitar riffs and drumming rest directly on top of the beat, giving this tighter, later-era REFUSED material a thick sound that retains its punk energy. This is a truly definitive late '90s hardcore release. "songs to fan the flames of discontent" is a 1st-rate record from one of the best, most aggressive hardcore bands of this or any era.
REFUSED
the ep compilation (1997/BURNING HEART)
SXE-HARDCORE. This is how it started - 21songs from a young straight-edge hardcore band ready to explode. Newly remastered and reissued this CD compiles various MCDs, b-sides, compilation, and assorted tracks from this influential Swedish hardcore outfit.

REGENTS
antietam after party (2012/LOVITT)
POST-HARDCORE. REGENTS is a stunning collective of D.C. hardcore scene vets. Their collective band credits are enough to stagger any '90s hardcore, punk and emo fan. These groups include FRODUS, BATTERY, SLEEPYTIME TRIO, THURSDAY, MEN'S RECOVERY PROJECT etc. members. The band’s debut, "antietam after party", is a strong and arty take on the kind of aggressive, discordant hardcore that’s making a comeback. REGENTS packs razor-sharp, spindly guitar riffs, meaty, rumbling bass lines; pummeling drumming with a touch of swing; and scalding vocal squawks into the mix. Vinyl version includes a digital download card.
REGRESS
look who's pulling the strings (2004/LENGUA ARMADA)
HARDCORE-PUNK. REGRESS was a band from Chicago featuring some scene veterans from LIFE SENTENCE. They continue to bring up the serious issues that plagued us back in the '80s and continue to be plague us today like nationalism, affordable living, and religion. This is some great Reagan era style hardcore. “nuclear bomb” is a tribute to DISCHARGE, but their music for the most part sounds like ADRENALIN O.D. with a CRIPPLED YOUTH style crew on back up vocals. Instead of the material coming from kids trying to re-create an ideal, this is authentic '80s hardcore written recently.
REGRET
misery brigade (2006/ORGANIZED CRIME)
HARDCORE. Hot off the heels of their recently re-released demo 7", Minneapolis' REGRET hit the studio and recorded these 6 tracks of heavy and emotional hardcore. With influences from bands like UNBROKEN, MODERN LIFE IS WAR and THE HOPE CONSPIRACY mixing with the lyrical intenseness.
REGULATIONS
electric guitar (2005/HAVOC)
HARDCORE-PUNK. On "electric guitar" you'll get 7 new studio tracks on the a-side. Following in the proven REGULATIONS style of going back to the roots of hardcore-punk, circa 1980. Catchy, snotty, raw, hardcore punk that would fit right in on Dangerhouse records or the "boston not l.a." compilation. The b-side features both 7"s (out-of-print) as bonus tracks.
REGULATIONS
s/t (2005/HAVOC)
HARDCORE-PUNK. REGULATIONS follow up their 2 hot 7"s with a full throttle full-length of catchy hardcore-punk rock. Featuring ex members of E.T.A., these guys left the wild thrash of their youth behind for a more song driving approach to hardcore. The result was a return to the early L.A. hardcore roots style. REGULATIONS jam in the crucial style of early BLACK FLAG, CIRCLE JERKS, or ADOLESCENTS. Imagine a mix of recent Scandinavian bands like AMDI PETERSEN'S ARME, YOUNG WASTENERS, DS-13 or NO HOPE FOR THE KIDS. Umeå, Sweden has fostered some of the best hardcore bands of the past decade.
REGULATIONS
to be me (2009/DERANGED)
HARDCORE-PUNK. "to be me" by Swedish überband REGULATIONS serve 12 sharp fusillades that make this silly hardcore-punk heart inside of your beaten body jump with joy and pounding pleasure. When it comes to timeless and catchy early '80s US hardcore sound in these fast and modern times of ours, the REGULATIONS take the biggest part of the cake. Once more they managed to step back to the classic hardcore of the ADOLESCENTS, the CIRCLE JERKS or BLACK FLACK and stir it up with ingenuity, inspiration and passion in meldodic mid-tempo songs. This record sure will keep you warm and shaking your bones to these freezing days coming ahead.
REGURGITATE
Deviant (2003/RELAPSE)
GRINDCORE. The epitome of post-CARCASS extremity, REGURGITATE gouge out merciless ultra-grind. Faster and more aggressive than previous REGURGITATE albums, Deviant deals sharp-edged hooks, strafing drum battery and distorted blasts of bass. Deviant is a monstrous grindcore extravaganza from one of the underground's most ferocious and offensive bands!

Sickening bliss (2006/RELAPSE)
GRINDCORE. The highly influential Swedish gore-gods spew forth their long-awaited, fourth full-length album! Sickening Bliss oozes atrocious audio-bile from every orifice via gut-churning guitar gross-outs, bowel-burning bass blurring, pulverizing percussive puking and the vilest vocal vomiting it has ever been your displeasure to experience. 26 tracks of noxious noise that is heavier than yo momma and catchier than her gonorrhea. Sickening Bliss is guaranteed to make you sick!
REIGN SUPREME
american violence (2008/MALFUNCTION)
HARDCORE. REIGN SUPREME are one of the heaviest/hardest metallic hardcore bands to surface from Philadelphia in over a decade. Led by former BLACKLISTED member Jay on vocals, they wield the same devastating musical hammer as bands like TRAPPED UNDER ICE and TERROR, yet come out swinging with a conviction and rage unlike anyone before them. With they're 5 tracks they rise up to strike down with a bone shaking violence that few possess, leading the pack while thinning the herd with their unflinching power, confidence, and intensity.
REIGN SUPREME
testing the limits of infinite (2009/DEATHWISH)
HARDCORE. "testing the limits of infinite" is REIGN SUPREMEE's highly anticipated debut full-length album. "testing the limits of infinite" takes the accessible metallic hardcore foundation popularized by many and injects fresh, warm blood deep within it. The result is a new breed of anthemic metallic hardcore; immaculately executed, intensely heavy and refreshingly unpredictable.
