METALCORE. "back breaker" is their 3rd full-length CD, and their best. THE SHODOWN plays metalcore mixed with southern-metal, and have added more thrash to this CD. The songs are heavier and more intense than on their last album, but still have plenty of good melodies and hooks. There are no traces of modern-rock here, it's all metal! Thick riffs and breakdowns combined with thrash and groovy southern-metal influences give THE SHOWDOWN a distinctive sound.

They're not as popular as GORILLA BISCUITS, as influential as YOUTH OF TODAY, or as musically advanced as BOLD, but nonetheless "you're only young once" is a powerful album. Remastered to be better than ever, this release has been expanded to a full-length packed with unreleased studio, live, and practice recordings. PUNK-ROCK. Austin's SIGNAL LOST 2nd album and sophomore release "prosthetic screams" combines a WIPERS-styled guitar moodiness, AVENGERS-esque sung female vocals, an on-point rhythm section, altogether echoing everything from mid-period TSOL, classic 80's new wave, UK peace-punk and at the same time reveling in the same dark outlook and spirit akin to most stuff on the Prank Label. This release is the strongest definition of the band yet, with widely marked progression within 10 varied tracks, ranging from almost radio friendly pop-punk to all out hardcore ragers to moody mid-tempo tracks with surf-ish guitar. SIGNAL LOST features members of DEATHREAT, BALANCE OF TERROR, SEVERED HEAD OF STATE and J-CHURCH... Sounds like none of those bands with their own unique bent, but just as great!

HARDCORE. SILENT DRIVE is a band that rose out of the ashes of the short-lived INK CARTRIDGE FUNERAL. It contains members of BANE, Massachusetts metal band DASAI, and DROWNINGMAN. Though this seasoned four-piece have deep roots in the hardcore/metal scene, it is branching out far beyond the constraints of any genre. The musical history of the band members is long in the making.
