HARDCORE. Where the first 2 releases on Crucial Response Records had a strong CRO-MAGS feel to them, the sound has evolved into a heavier and more metallic kind of hardcore. On "gospels for the deceived", their sound has changed even more. STRIKE FIRST blends R.J.'s haunting roars with blazing guitar riffs, solos and crushing drum beats to create another 25min. of pure rage. This re-issue features 6 studio tracks that originally appeared on the album on side-a, and a great 7 song "live at cbgb's" set from 2001 (which perfectly captures the band's energy) on side-b. They play hardcore raw, fast and furious, the way it was meant to be. The music is tight, rabid, angry and in-your-face. All of the audio has been remastered specifically for vinyl as part of Bridge Nine's 10th anniversary repress series. Colored vinyl version includes a digital download card.

This thirteen song discography CD captures the entire STRUGGLE experience on one disc. It includes all of their records as well as the songs from the STRUGGLE/UNDERTOW split 7" and one song from the Give Me Back comp LP. The CD also includes a live video in QuickTime Movie format, though unfortunately the video will only play for PC users. The CD features all new art and photos. It does not include the Seth Tobocman art from the LP nor most of the writings from the 7". It does feature a hidden treat (if you can find it).
