METALCORE. After delivering a punishing Victory Records debut, North Carolina's A HERO A FAKE returned to the studio with an outcome that is a collection of music that is challenging, complex but extremely catchy and engaging, mixing elements of OPETH, KING CRIMSON and BETWEEN THE BURIED AND ME.

The ambitious young band funneled all of their rage and emotions into the collection of songs that will appear on their debut, "Volatile". A HERO A FAKE combine the ferocity and technical prowess of bands like BETWEEN THE BURIED AND ME and OPETH with the hooks and choruses of UNDEROATH and create monolithic anthems for hard music fans everywhere.
A HOPE FOR HOME
the everlasting man (2009/STRIKE FIRST)
POST-HARDCORE. What began as an emotional outlet for a group of friends during a season of loss has blossomed into a dedicated project that finds them on the road supporting "the everlasting man". The 11 tracks from "the everlasting man" weave through warm, organic textures, then meet up with electronic beats and synthesizers. A HOPE FOR HOME strives to bridge the gap between a professional production and the individual by connecting through passionate live music. Their growth and change is evident at every performance and serves as a reminder that underground music can still be inspirational.

A LOVE ENDS SUICIDE
In the disaster (2006/METAL BLADE)
METALCORE. From the city of West Covina, California, A LOVE ENDS SUICIDE became a quickly growing act as a progressive/metalcore band. The group released copies of their self produced MCD throughout most of the States, which helped build an admirable reputation in today's music scene. In 2006, the band officially signed to Metal Blade, with the generous and highly appreciated help of Tim Lambesis of AS I LAY DYING. Recommended for fans of AS I LAY DYING and IT DIES TODAY.
A PLEA FOR PURGING
a critique of mind and thought (2007/FACEDOWN)
METALCORE. Coming at you in a blaze of high-end solos, A PLEA FOR PURGING waste no time in proving their instrumental prowess. Both guitarists leave no room for the nondescript breakdowns that seem to saturate the current metalcore market. Pouring forth such intensity and precision they are a sort of threshing combine running at peak performance producing highly contagious riffs and infectious harmonies. This is an amazing album. If you’re into this genre, you will like this album - that’s all there is to it.
A PLEA FOR PURGING
depravity (2009/FACEDOWN)
METALCORE. After playing over 300 shows in support of their debut, A PLEA FOR PURGIN has recorded 11 tracks for their sophomore album titled "depravity". A PLEA FOR PURGIN is poised and ready to make their move in 2009 as "depravity" brings their heavy sound to the masses. For fans of UNEARTH, BETWEEN THE BURIED AND ME and DRAGONFORCE.
A PLEA FOR PURGING
the life & death of a plea for purging (2011/FACEDOWN)
METALCORE. A PLEA FOR PURGING have never been a band to stay in the proverbial box. Their new album, "the life & death of a plea for purging", proves, yet again, how versatile and multifaceted these musicians really are. The excellent brutality the band has cultivated over the years is present on this full-length; existing in perfect harmony with the metallic hardcore they've become known for, are some intense acoustic tracks. Colored vinyl version includes a MP3 download card.
A PLEA FOR PURGING
the marriage of heaven and hell (2010/FACEDOWN)
METALCORE. A PLEA FOR PURGING's 3rd album, "the marriage of heaven and hell", is a follow-up to the highly acclaimed sophomore release, "depravity". For fans of MESHUGGAH. Limited colored vinyl.
A STATIC LULLABY
and don't forget to breathe (2006/COLUMBIA)
EMOCORE. "and don't forget to breathe", the band's full-length debut, is their 1st proper release. It follows their self-produced "withered" MCD which they've been selling at shows and online for months. While "withered" shows a band at its genesis, "and don't forget to breathe" represents a huge leap forward both musically and aesthetically. Produced by Steve Evetts (Snapcase, Sepultura, Hatebreed), the full-length is a totally different beast. Get ready for an intense musical experience and be prepared to leave a little blood behind... they always do.
A STATIC LULLABY
faso latido (2005/COLUMBIA)
EMOCORE. Instead of being a hardcore band with emo undertones, they've become more of a straight-ahead rock band with the hardcore elements mostly in the background (sometimes in the foreground, but far less often in the background (sometimes in the foreground, but far less often than in their debut). When they put it all the elements together flawlessly, they are able to maintain the intensity of their debut while keeping it catchy enough to singalong to.
A STORM OF LIGHT
and we wept the black ocean.. (2008/NEUROT)
PROGRESSIVE/POST-ROCK. Led by NEUROSIS' Josh Graham, A STORM OF LIGHT take the lumbering slowness of sludge-metal to new levels, occasionally riffing at a pace where you forget what the last chord sounded like while you're waiting for the next one. Filling in the gaps, you're presented with a doubled-up drumming approach courtesy of ex-SWANS skinsman Vincent and SATANIZED's Pete, who add an enormous amount of weight to the mix, punctuating monolithic outpourings of low end abrasion on "undertow" with snares that sound like the blasts of distant cannons. Great cinematic doom from the Neurot camp.
A STORM OF LIGHT
forgive us our trespasses (2009/NEUROT)
PROGRESSIVE/POST-ROCK. A tell-tale sign of just how widespread NEUROSIS’ influence and reach has become, A STORM OF LIGHT emerges as more restrained NEUROSIS, on Neurosis’ label. The only thing missing would be a guest appearance from a member of ISIS or Scott Kelly. "forgive us our trespasses" for all intents and purposes, falls under the metalgaze category. Absent are those dreamy, melodic moments that ISIS and ROSETTA love, but the stark, oftentimes minimal nature of these songs allows for some truly striking moments. "forgive us our trespasses" may not be as fully realized as it can be, but the foundation and natural heritage of this band suggests there’s still lots of work to be done.
A TEXTBOOK TRAGEDY
intimidator (2008/DISTORT)
POST-HARDCORE. "intimidator" is an elbow to the face that will leave any aggressive music fan with a bloodlust for more. "if you want blood.." shows the band's base in hardcore but the seeds of technical development are also planted, demonstrating their desire to reach beyond. Things begin to blossom into a DILLINGER-esque vine and their roots are strengthened by subsequent song "intimidator". This album won't give you one second to rest, constantly keeping your ears fixated on the prize.
A TRILLION BARNACLE LAPSE
black lava (2003/SOUND VIRUS)
POST-HARDCORE. A TRILLION BARNAPLE LAPSE return with an 8 song release which is a follow up to their full-length that was released on Level Plane Records. "Black lava" delivers a mixture that brings together sounds of bands like TRISTEZA, THE CURE and even moments of early PIL, creating a soundtrack that is truly unlike anything else coming out these days. You can see the progression in their music, as it still holds onto its hardcore roots but now adds an even more synth sound. Thus at times making their music seem layered with an almost spacey feel, giving you an idea what THE CURE might have sounded like if they were just starting out as a band today.
