CROOKED WAYS
crimes of passion (2009/LAST ANTHEM)
HARDCORE. Never content to rest on the laurels of their local brethren, CROOKED WAYS represent the new face of Denver hardcore. Dead-set on restoring an air of immediacy to a world mired in hollow politics and pointless rhetoric, they are here prove that emotion, humor, passion and intensity are traits that can co-exist in a band without reducing them to repetition or parody. For fans of SET YOUR GOALS, THE EXPLOSION, H2O and STAY GOLD. Colored 7" includes MP3 download code.
CROOKED WAYS
how to break hearts (2010/LAST ANTHEM)
HARDCORE. This 7" is actually the band's 1st release, recorded before the "crimes of passion" 7" from 2009. It showcases the beginnings of their sound that brings together punk and heavy hardcore, not unlike COMEBACK KID and early SET YOUR GOALS. Colored 7" includes MP3 download code.

CROSS LAWS
ancient rites (2007/SORRY STATE)
HARDCORE-PUNK. On their 3rd 7", North Carolina's CROSS LAWS pick up right where they left off with 6 raging hardcore-punk tracks with plenty of early '80s influence bringing to mind bands like POISON IDEA and ARTICLES OF FAITH. Fuck all of the soundalike bands, this is raw, in-your-face hardcore.
CROSS RAGE
s/t (2011/NO WAY)
HARDCORE. From the cold, windswept plains of Manitoba, Canada, CROSS RAGE feature members of BORN BAD and UNDER PRESSURE and do their best rendition of early-'80s Midwest hardcore ala NEGATIVE APPROACH, THE FIX and POISON IDEA.
CROSS STITCHED EYES
decomposition (2012/SKULD)
PUNK/DEATH-ROCK. Skuld Releases is pleased to release "decomposition", the 2nd full-length by US/UK/German based collective. CROSS STITCHED EYES deep and abstract sounds are works of pummeling sonics. Following in the tradition of anarchist-punk and death-rock (RUDIMENTARY PENI, CORTEX and KILLING JOKE), the album's noises embrace the many irrational and visceral shades of music's darkest corners. "decomposition" decidedly rejects traditional copy-and-paste guidelines of musical conformity with a puncturing attitude. At times benign, at others aggressive, CROSS STITCHED EYES demonstrate the complicated relationship between dark and light that artists continue to examine. Repeated spins of Decomposition are unavoidable.
CROSSED EYES
rattled (2007/SORRY STATE)
PUNK-ROCK. Raleigh's CROSSED EYES (who share a bassist with CROSS LAWS) are somethinig little different for Sorry State. It's like CROSSED EYES took all of your favorite punk subgenres and put them into a blender of awesomeness. There are elements of Lookout-style pop-punk, '77 British stuff, US-hardcore and even a little '60s influence here and there, but somehow it all comes out sounding seamless and original. Recommended for fans of the ZERO BOYS, MARKED MEN.
CROSSTOPS
the ego that ate the world (2010/ROCKSTAR)
PUNK-ROCK. The CROSSTOPS are a San Francisco based truckpunk band with members of THE BARFEEDERS, RICH KIDS ON LSD, GWAR, WHISKEY AVENGERS etc.. This is by far the greatest white-trash-partymachine since KISS and HANK III.. They might represent the dark side of life and are certainly not in any way affiliated with the watered down bubble gum punk of the day, but they do have a certain spice to their sound that is easily digestible. Heavy guitar riffage accented by a balls out rhythm section topped with articulate yet inordinately funny vocals dealing with the finest pleasures in life or possibly, the worst of the worst. But it's all in good fun and serious is barely a word in their vocabulary. LP comes in gatefold sleeve.
CROSTA
nus a la gola (2012/D.I.Y.)
HARDCORE-PUNK. CROSTA from Barcelona deliver their self-released full-length called "nus a la gola". A perfect mix of mid tempo peace-punk inspired tunes with personal anarchist lyrics sang in Catalan. Blending A TOUCH OF HYSTERIA, THE MOB, CRISIS with raging explosions of hardcore. All carefully packaged in a beautiful sleeve, including a printed inner sleeve and extra lyric sheet with translations to Spanish and English. Do yourself a favour and pick this masterpiece up.
CROW
bloody tear (2010/PRANK)
HARDCORE. This is a slightly altered and remastered version of their 1st full-length with 9 Tracks that was originally released by Prank in 2007. Bombastic crust-hardcore with a huge hint of metal - an ultra brutal lightning attack of searing riffs, wild solos, screaming vocals and crushing rhythm section. Bleak intent and searing metallic mayhem, CROW have dotted the landscape of Japanese hardcore since it's inception and just seem to get more devastating with age!
CROW
flock of beast (2010/PRANK)
HARDCORE. Tokyo Legends CROW return with 2 blasting tracks of doomy metallic hardcore mayhem. Thundering deeper into epic, mid-tempo metallic territory on the a-side with CROW’s trademark gravel-drawn vocals over searing riffs while exploding on the b-side into ferocious, fast-paced hardcore. CROW origins date back to the early Japanese hardcore-punk scene of the '80s, but they have attacked in the last decade with a renewed intensity. Available again on colored vinyl!
CROW
neurotic organization (2010/PRANK)
HARDCORE. Dark and bleak hardcore cornered in metallic-rock, but thundering with determined intent. Fueled by the upbeat energy of Japanese hardcore, but drawing longer mid-tempo compositions of shouted despair, pounded drum beats and screaming guitars influenced by UK bands such as ANTISECT and AMEBIX. The 7" includes a rollicking cover of AMEBIX's "no sanctuary". Crow has been on and off the hardcore scene for almost 2 decades, with numerous releases in Japan. This was their first US release in 2001 and has been out-of-print for years. The cover has been re-worked for this re-release and the 7" issued on limited to 400 red vinyl.

SLUDGE-METAL. When it comes to NOLA sludge, metal and hardcore CROWBAR have been doing it for nearly 20 years and have paved the way for a lot of other bands. "sever the wicked hand" has been highly anticipated by fans and critics, and is a worthy comeback and fine addition to the CROWBAR catalog. Thick 180gr vinyl, of course!
