DOMINIC
persona (2013/DENOVALI)
POST-HARDCORE. It's been 4 years since their previous album, but now DOMINIC is finally ready with album number 3, "persona". The band has had its focus on catching the nerve and roughness the live format adds, without spending too much time on post production. With the new album DOMINIC took a different approach and thus "persona" marks a new step in their history as a band. DOMINIC have always been hard to label, but attemps to characterise them have used terms such as hardcore, post-hardcore, screamo and post-rock. These are all genres the band is well known with, and musically DOMINIC is probably somewhere within. Thick 180gr vinyl comes with a digital download card.
DON CABALLERO
gang banged with a headache, and live (2013/JOYFUL NOISE)
POST/INSTRUMENTAL-ROCK. The 1st ever live album from legendary instrumental juggernaut DON CABALLERO. "gang banged with a headache, and live" is a recently-unsurfaced authorized bootleg from the math-rock founders. With material spanning from 1993's "for respect" to songs that would end up on 2006's "world class listening problem", "gang banged..." includes a decade's worth of quintessential DON CABALLERO material. Limited edition.
DON CABALLERO
punkgasm (2008/RELAPSE)
POST/INSTRUMENTAL-ROCK. DON CABALLERO, propelled as always by drumming virtuoso Damon Che, twists and turns through 14 new tracks on its brand new album "Punkgasm". "Punkgasm" explodes with all of the band's legendary trademarks: wildly inventive poly-rhythms; layers of looping guitar acrobatics; rich melodies and textures; and expansive compositions that evolve and unfold from start to finish. For fans of SONIC YOUTH, FUGAZI, SLINT, SHELLAC, BATTLES, HELMET and PELICAN.
DON VITO
IV (2010/DISCORPORATE)
POST-ROCK. One of the most advanced noise creators and simultaneously one of the neatest outfits there are. Hardly anyone in that genre has accomplished a tighter match of 2 antagonisms - chaos and structure. DON VITO’s "IV" is a brute piece of greatness. The essence after 10 furious and fast songs…there is a deep end. A deeper end than it seems at 1st, 2nd, 5th listening. What we initially think of as noise with a head nodding effect has a lot more structure and thought-through-ness than it looks like on the surface. DON VITO is much more. Comes as a one-sided LP with silkscreen on the flipside plus additional CD.
DONKEYS, THE
born with stripes (2011/DEAD OCEANS)
POST-ROCK. San Diego's THE DONKEYS strike a balance of smiling, surfer mysticism and winking, slacker mystique. They reanimate the charming hallmarks of sunshine-rock past without being sepia-toned retro or bubblegum-cloying. The nods to GRATEFUL DEAD are better balanced with echoes of other Cali arists, notably PAVEMENT. The country-rock flairs are often overtaken by power-pop hooks. What some might call a lazy melody is really just a melody on its own clock. Nice and relaxed. LP includes a MP3 download card.
DONNAS, THE
greatest hits vol.16 (2009/PURPLE FEATHER)
PUNK/ROCK. No one parties like THE DONNAS and they throw a sweet sixteen like no other. Their new album "greatest hits vol.16" (the band's 8th release) is 16 tracks of rock bliss, a collection of the classic DONNAS songs you love and the new ones you'll die for, all written or co-written by THE DONNAS. This is a comprehensive album featuring a mix of new songs, never-before-heard b-sides, live recordings as well as re-recorded classics and previously unreleased tracks. After sixteen years together, and over 1000000 records sold, THE DONNAS have never sounded sweeter.
DON’T
away away (2011/DOOMTOWN )
POST-PUNK. DON’T formed in 2009 when 4 people from very disparate musical backgrounds got together to exchange musical ideas. The musicians in DON'T carry credentials from some of Portland's legendary rockers like THE WIPERS, NAPALM BEACH, and POISON IDEA and create a solid foundation for the vocals of relative newcomer Jenny Don't. These 10 songs run the gamut from straight-up rock 'n' roll to surf and punk with just a hint of blues and rockabilly for good measure. This is a voice, and a band, you will listen to again and again.
DON’T
love lost/killing me (2011/DOOMTOWN)
POST-PUNK. Following on the wake of their amazing full-length, DON'T has released this powerful 7". Combining impassioned vocals with precision, heartfelt songwriting, DON’T continues to play the kind of powerhouse sounds that Portland has become known for. Featuring a veteran line-up of ace musicians including original WIPERS drummer Sam Henry.

DOOM
fuck peaceville (2009/TWISTED CHORDS)
CRUST-HARDCORE. Out-of-press since years - now in press again. This has been released due to the treatment the band has received from Peaceville Records, who have sold half the label to the major Music For Nations Rcords. This happened after they had assured the band that the recordings wouldn't fall into the hands of a major label. The double LP contains 37 tracks from their out-of-print, early Peaceville Records recordings, including the "war crimes" LP and split LP with NO SECURITY, re-recorded with the new line-up and twice as powerful as the originals. DOOM SIREN
homeland insecurity (2008/SICK THOUGHT)
CRUST/GRINDCORE. Brutal EXTREME NOISE TERROR meets BOLT THROWER style from Texas. Maniac early DISRUPT style hardcore-crust, not unlike their earlier bands (WAKING TERROR, TERMINAL DISGUST, BREAD WAND WATER). "homeland insecurity" deserve a modern high energy punch of metalic-crust with a hint of grind and end '80s crossover. This release stand out from the cookie cutter style most of this genre is known for!
DOOM SIREN
tyranny (2009/BURNT BRIDGES)
CRUST/GRINDCORE. A full blown aural assault from these political crusty grinding bastards. Take the ferocity of early '90s Earache releases, crustcore greats like EXTREME NOISE TERROR, DOOM, SKIT SYSTEM and the proficiency of seasoned musicians and you get the entity known as DOOM SIREN! Hailing from Austin, Texas this release is a follow up to their "homeland insecurity" LP. This 5 song release deals with the current state of dissolution in our world economic system collapse growled over a barrage of blasting double bass and soul crushing guitars letting the listener know that this band means fucking buisness.
DOOM TOWN
walking through walls (2011/NO OPTIONS)
PUNK-ROCK. Hailing from St. Louis Missouri, DOOM TOWN play a energetic style of punk with male/female melodies much like Los Angeles X, but with more raw emotion like GORILLA ANGREB or DAYLIGHT ROBBERY. Their mid-west roots are also present in the bands sound which is well crafted and intelligent. This is their 1st of many vinyl forays - limited to 300 copies.
