DOWN
IV - part 1 the purple (2012/ROADRUNNER)
DOOM/SLUDGE-METAL. "IV - part 1 the purple" is DOWN's 1st new material in 5 years. This 6-song record is the 1st of 4 that the band plan to release over 2013, and features the work of new addition to the lineup Pat Brudners (CROWBAR) on bass, who joins the all-star cast. "IV - part 1 the purple", first and foremost, sounds like DOWN: sludgy and doomy, dripping sweat and tar, everything rendered on a grand scale, anchored by Anselmo's trademark impudent bark. Windstein and Keenan have a fantastic chemistry on guitars. While the sound of this record is classic DOWN, delivered without experimentation or flourish, the form of the album is where the band allow themselves freedom to explore, and very successfully. "IV - part 1 the purple" is at once extremely satisfying, but also leaves the list

DOWN TO NOTHING
unbreakable (2012/REVELATION)
HARDCORE. DOWN TO NOTHING started from humble beginnings in 2000. After putting out their 1st full-length, "save it for the birds", they knew they were bound for more. In the next years, DOWN TO NOTHING released 2 splits with KIDS LIKE US and ON THIN ICE. The 2 splits along with 3 unreleased songs were compiled and released as "splitting headache" in 2005. This compilation showed immense growth and acted as a bridge to their most recent work, "the most". After being out-of-print for years, DOWN TO NOTHING's "splitting headache" and "save it for the birds" are finally available again on one release, "unbreakable". Colored vinyl includes a digital download card.
DOWNFALL OF GAIA / IN THE HEARTS OF EMPERORS
split (2011/MOMENT OF COLLAPSE)
CRUST/POST-HARDCORE. Up and coming German crust act DOWNFALL OF GAIA traverse more harrowing emotion than many bands do in their entire discographies. Both intensely atmospheric and relentlessly hard-hitting, the band takes hardcore fundamentals and pushes them to emotional extremes, flickering between fragility and ferocity. IN THE HEARTS OF EMPERORS from Sweden founded in 2009 is a 4-piece band from Nyköping, Sweden. Who perfectly combine different elements from doom, sludge and post-rock and give it a special touch by the emotional vocals and long instrumental-parts. A band with much potential in the footsteps of Cult Of Luna and Envy. LP comes in a super heavy gatefold cover, 180gr vinyl and with a beautiful poster artwork!
DOWNTOWN STRUTS
anchors/mexican graffiti (2012/PIRATES PRESS)

DR. KNOW
plug-in jesus / burn (2008/MYSTIC)
HARDCORE. DR. KNOW managed something that most other bands mining the crossover sound were unable to accomplish. By looking backwards to BLACK SABBATH for inspiration instead of to current acts like SLAYER, DR. KNOW created a metal punk sound that was unique and different from bands like D.R.I.. Instead of double bass drum and hammer down guitar theatrics, you got guitars tuned wicked low and a looser more open feel. Coupled with evil sounding vocals, DR. KNOW sounded truly heavy and on certain songs. This value-package combines DR. KNOW's "plug-in jesus" LP and "burn" 7" onto one LP. You'll get 12 tracks of best nardcore mayhem by these hardcore veterans. Limited press on gold vinyl!
