HARDCORE. DR. KNOW managed something that most other bands mining the crossover sound were unable to accomplish. By looking backwards to BLACK SABBATH for inspiration instead of to current acts like SLAYER, DR. KNOW created a metal punk sound that was unique and different from bands like D.R.I.. Instead of double bass drum and hammer down guitar theatrics, you got guitars tuned wicked low and a looser more open feel. Coupled with evil sounding vocals, DR. KNOW sounded truly heavy and on certain songs. This value-package combines DR. KNOW's "plug-in jesus" LP and "burn" 7" onto one LP. The country rock on "closed", the follow-up to their debut is not aggressive or all-out roaring as much as it is hard-driving and confessional. “closed” is arguably DRAG THE RIVER’s best album. HARDCORE-PUNK. "we're all cutthroats", DRAGNET's sophmore release, starts off with a wall of feedback and distortion and then continues to rage through 10 tracks of angry and energetic hardcore-punk. Though influences from the early Boston and late '80s New York bands still aparent, they have built on that sound with more complex song writing, an overall more serious vibe, and tons of heart and emotion. Lyrically this tackles everything from personal apathy and depression to acomplacent and corporate American society.

The album is musically quite similar to the debut album - "2000 micrograms from home", but the band used a larger amount of electronics and the eternal quest for hallucinatory experimentation has made the music span a sligthly wider range, transcending musical styles like neofolk, psychedelic, space-rock and electronica.

From now on the freakier and more experimenting parts of main man Lorenzo Woodrose'songwriting, which DRAGONTEARS very much represents, will be incorborated into the music on future BABY WOODROSE albums. "turn on tune in fuck off" contains 6 songs of a very diverse nature of which 4 are in English and 2 are in Danish language. HARDCORE. DRAINLAND hail from Ireland and play some seriously ugly and heavy Hardcore. This sounds like it would be some weird gem from the mid '90s with the eerie unorthodox playing, the eerie buildups and hoarse vocals that give it a distant mean sound. The lyrics create pictures of unease and discomfort. This draws from many elements of the hardcore lexicon and puts them together to craft something that doesn't sound like anything else, but rings true.

PROGRESSIVE-HARDCORE. Damn - this is a split with epic proportions. DRAINLAND offer 4 songs of noise drenched hardcore. Slow, fast, heavy and powerful. For fans of UNRUH, NOOTHGRUSH and DYSTOPIA. TRENCHES deliver 1 song that lasts for about 14 min.. They could be best compared to a mixture between IRE and ISIS ("celestial" period). Riffing, groove, dark and just simply great.

HARDCORE. A ripping new band from Boston. DRAIZE playing heavy pissed hardcore. They give you 11 tracks of brutal energetic hardcore in the vein of INFEST with a hint of classic early death-metal like BOLT THROWER. Pounding drums with awesome well written personal and political lyrics.

POST-PUNK. People from IDLE HANDS and PRESS GANG with kinda different stuff. Reminds us of old '90s heroes like SHOTMAKER, various Dischord or Gravity records band and also the mighty JESUS LIZARD. Complex groovy and noisy guitar sounds with nice melodies and an energetic drummer. The limited 7" will contain 3 new songs showing the whole variety of the band. Be prepared for some killer record, guess you are, aren't you?

green horse (2011/THIS CHARMING MAN)
POST-PUNK. "green horse" is the 2nd full-length by Münsters DRAMAMINE and they know how to worship the '90s! This is full of influences from late Dischord/DC-Stuff, SONIC YOUTH, WIPERS, AT THE DRIVE-IN up to MY BLOODY VALENTINE. The most notable development – besides the distinct enlargement that went along with the adding of a 2nd guitar - can be found in the vocals - now their singer has reinvented his singing completely and finds his space in the band's very own sound. You’ll find the old DRAMAMINE hectic, the drive and the passion but also a noisier and more experimental attempt. Overall, the songs developed more different directions. The record comes in a limited pressing run of 500 pieces.
