hence my optimism (2012/RED SCARE)
PUNK-ROCK. ELWAY released their debut full-length, "delusions," in 2011 and went on to make quite a dent in the punk scene. ELWAY's songwriting has further improved, and that's evident on these 4 new tunes that make up "hence my optimism". These are gutsy and efficient punk songs, sure to please the ELWAY faithful, but even more certain to garner them more new fans. Think LAWRENCE ARMS meets PROPAGANDHI.

EMBALMING THEATRE / TERSNAJUNG 13
split (2013/ROTTEN TO THE CORE)
GRINDCORE. Double dose of blazing international grindcore. EMBALMING THEATRE hail from Switzerland and have been kicking out the jams for almost 20 years, and show no sign of letting up. The a-side offers up 3 horrifying tales of gore straight from reality. The b-side spews out 3 additional trax from Indonesian grinders TERSNAJUNG 13. They play dark, heavy, traditional grindcore and are sure not to disappoint. All 6 tracks are new and exclusive to this release. Limited to 500 copies.
PROGRESSIVE-METAL/HARDCORE. Coming from the hardcore-punk scene, Kelly and Steve were members of LESSER OF TWO. Oakland based EMBERS play skillfully with elements of black-metal, doom and crust with a catchy and original taste. Imagine LUDICRA and REMAINS OF THE DAY dining and jamming with EMPEROR the depths of a crypt, and you would be close to comprehending the result. It is perhaps the massive use of keyboards, which give an aura of gloomy atmosphere to the whole recording, without disturbing or overpowering the frequent epic guitar duels. In the end, their style is unique, try to believe it.
EMOCORE. Formed in May of 1985 with 3 of the members from FAITH, as well as Ian MacKaye (of TEEN IDLES, MINOR THREAT, FUGAZI etc.). In their 10 month existence they only played in Washington D.C. and Baltimore and ended their existence in March of 1986. This full-length contains material from 2 different recording sessions. For fans of FUGAZI, RITES OF SPRING and even MINOR THREAT. This is something for the early DC punk scene fans. This vinyl was re-mastered in 2009 and includes a digital download card.
EMBRACE OF THORNS
praying for absolution (2012/NUCLEAR WAR NOW)
BLACK/DEATH-METAL. With each successive release, the band has come closer to achieving the apex of their particular darkness. With their new album, "praying for absolution", EMBRACE OF THORNS draw ever closer to perfect ascension. Characterized by instantaneous transitions between harrowing death, doom and frenzied black-death-metal, "praying for absolution" evokes a sense of endless death and perpetual rebirth. DoLP comes with reverseboard printed gatefold-jacket, double transparent red vinyl with the 4th side silkscreened, and poster printed on uncoated stock.
slave to the game (2012/VICTORY)
DEATHCORE. In just 5 years, EMMURE has released 4 albums, played nearly 1000 shows and helped define the genre "deathcore". Their 5th album, "slave to the game", breaks out with even more intensely brutal songs combined with menacing lyrics and a mean vocal delivery as the band stays on top of the game in 2012. Colored vinyl includes a digital download card.
the respect issue (2008/VICTORY)
DEATHCORE. Rolling off their incredible debut album EMMURE is releasing their 2nd full-length album entitled "the respect issue". EMMURE have relentlessly toured the country straight bludgeoning everyone with their vulgar display of monolithic power. "the respect issue" will continue to knock all of the competition out, one bloody breakdown at a time. Overall, every track on the album has a significant purpose to making this one of the most exciting albums on Victory Records for a while.
in the nightside eclipse (2008/BACK ON BLACK)
BLACK-METAL. "in the nightside eclipse" was EMPEROR’s 1st full-length release (following their debut split with ENSLAVED), and despite the fact that it was recorded over a decade ago, it is still praised as a black-metal masterpiece. While this album does fulfill the requirements of an early to mid '90s release, the reason why this album stands a cut above the rest is the way in which EMPEROR so effortlessly takes these elements and surrounds them in an inescapable atmosphere. By utilizing symphonic keyboards to their advantage, EMPEROR succeeded in introducing this element into a genre that would otherwise denounce such a tool. By doing so, EMPEROR cemented their names as the 1st symphonic black-metal band, a label that still stands to this day.
s/t (2008/BACK ON BLACK)
BLACK-METAL. Any fan or person who appreciates quality musical craftsmanship will surely sing praise to the recording legacy that now represents the career of Norway’s EMPEROR. Their rise to popularity outlines the very development of black-metal’s 2nd wave; a period of the genre’s most prolific and controversial material to date. Four years on from the band’s highly editorialized break up, and after the release of the impeccable “prometheus: the discipline of fire & demise”, Back On Black re-presents the band’s essential album collection on limited edition vinyl. EMPEROR’s essential self-titled mini-album - previously released as part of a split with ENSLAVED features the original line-up with Mortiis on bass and lyricist!
gegen.kult (2012/COBRA/DEMONS RUN AMOK)
HARDCORE. Stuttgart is back on the map! EMPOWERMENT deliver on their 1st full-length pile-driving hardcore. Brutal tracks of fucked up and provoking hardcore supercrush, mercilessly pounded with mammoth guitars, anvil-breaking rhythms, sternum-splintering bass, and thermonuclear punk-power. Their debut album, "gen kult", has 12 powerful, jump out of your seat, singalong anthems. Dig a little deeper into EMPOWERMENT and you’ll find 5 guys tired of the cookie cutter, bubble gum, RTL II, excuse for hardcore-punk. 100% hardcore! Ehrlich, kompromisslos, rau, asozial? Leidenschaft pur!
HARDCORE-PUNK. Tighter, faster and harder, EMPTY GRAVE returns with 13 blistering tracks of hardcore-punk. Mix CHRIST ON PARADE, STATE OF ALERT, GOVERNMENT ISSUE and other early hardcore bands, then you can get an idea of how this hits your ears. Filled with unique hooks and cynical lyrics, this album captures the darker side of existence in an uncommon way.
the dark (2008/ABSENT)
HARDCORE-PUNK. Turning the clock back to the early '80s, Richmond's EMPTY GRAVE rip through 5 songs of raw, sloppy hardcore-punk with no frills whatsoever, paying homage to early Dischord bands like GOVERNMENT ISSUE, S.O.A. or YOUTH BRIGADE.
the rise (2006/ASSAULT)
HARDCORE. "the rise" contains 11 tracks of modern hardcore. After establishing themselves as an intense live band by playing shows all over, EMPTY VISION are poised to take the world by storm with their latest recordings. From start to finish, this is a powerhouse of passionate and inspiring hardcore to rival the very best. Recorded at "Die Tonmeisterei" studios "the rise" is no slouch in the production department either. Add to that a slick looking booklet with nice artwork you know that this record will turn some heads.
