This time, the band seems to be focusing a bit more on catchiness than the WANKYS, making this less furious, but more fun. ELEKTRO/POP. Freddy Ruppert's newest collaborative project is as much an emotional obsession as it is an obsession with sound. The new album is poppier, cleaner. More seductive, sweet, charming, but more bitter. The claustrophobic reverb from the last album has been replaced. The female collaborators on the album (Nika Roza Danilova of ZOLA JESUS Yasmine Kittles of TEARIST) materialize more as simulations, stand-ins or memories of lost loves than as simple musical partners. Roza's intense, operatic style and Yasmin's softer, coquettish beckoning surround Ruppert as the core, writhing, masculine presence in an open, chaotic album. Jamie Stewart of XIU XIU adding percussion, wrap-around synths, extra-textures.

OLD-SCHOOL HARDCORE. FORTUNATE SON besteht aus (Ex-)Membern von AS HOPE DIES, MIRACLE MILE und WEAR THE MARK. Ihr Hardcore klingt wie eine Mischung aus THE BARS, YOUTH OF TODAY und PANIC. Sowohl textlich, wie auch vom Artwork her beschaeftigen sich die 6 Songs mit Krieg, Amerika, dem Praesidenten und den gruenen Scheinen. Gleich der Opener ''1956'' startet kraftvoll und schnell und bricht zur Mitte zu einem maechtigen Singalongpart zusammen. Vor allem die Stimme ist der Hammer. Schlag auf Schlag und ohne Pause geht es dann mit ''Pound of flesh'' und dem kurzen, schnellen ''F.o.f.'' weiter. Die Rezeptur bleibt auch auf Seite 2 bei ''Can't take it with you'' oder ''Cannon fodder'' die selbe. Schneller, '88er NYC-Hardcore verbindet sich geschickt mit modernem AMERICAN NIGHTMARE oder MODERN LIFE IS WAR Hardcore. Singalongs und langsamere Parts, die jeden Pit anzuenden. Super EP mit schlichtem, aber gut gemachtem Cover!

HARDCORE. Intense, loud, fast hardcore from Montreal, with ex-members of ...AND THE SAGA CONTINUES, BIONIC, and HOLY DIVIDE. This self-titled 7" contains 12 songs in under 8min.. Reminiscent of Six Weeks Records releases, but influenced by both the punk and metal scenes of old and new. From early D.R.I., and DROP DEAD, to NAILS. Frantic guitars and distorted bass, held down by a drum charge with pissed off lyrics about being dissatisfied with the world over top. The record is limited to 300 handnumbered copies and on color vinyl.

HARDCORE. Tokyo, Japan's FORWARD Formed in 1996 after the break up of Legendary Tokyo Hardcore band DEATHSIDE, with lead singer Ishiya and bassist You joining new members from INSANE YOUTH and KGS to start a new band that would continue FORWARD. With an edgy, raw hardcore attack, "just go forward to death" was a culmination of those early years of the band, and was released in 2000 on the H.G. FACT label. One of the band's Milestone releases with some of the band's most classic tracks, all marked by the band's boisterous vocals, catchy guitar leads and sturdy, pounding rhythm section. This LP was never released outside Japan, has been out-of-print on vinyl in Japan for years and is newly re-mastered.

HARDCORE. Tokyo's FORWARD return with their 1st new full-length since 2004's "burn down the corrupt justice", with catchy guitar riffs grounded in solid rhythms with intense gravel throated vocals.
