GOB
Muertos vivos (2007/COBRASIDE)
INDIE-ROCK/POP-PUNK. Brand new studio album by the Canadian pop-punk and indie-rockers! Fronted by Tom Thacker, lead guitarist for SUM 41. After a 4 year absence established punk band Gob is set to return with their new album "Muertos vivos". GOB has earned its reputation based in equal parts on a great live performance and truly smart songs that leave a lasting imprint. There are plenty of tracks on "Muertos vivos" that promise to be fan favorites. This is the band's 6th full-length, on labels ranging from Fearless to Arista. "Muertos vivos" truly is GOB's strongest material to date.
GOBLIN COCK
bagged and boarded (2007/ABSOLUTELY KOSHER)
STONER/HEAVY-ROCK. Latest hard hitting album for the prolific Rob Crow (PINBAKC, TEAM SLEEP, THINGY, HEAVY VEGETABLE). GOBLIN COCK isn't mindless repetition - It's great stoner-metal. Absolutely hilarious and absurd. From the caustic, bubbling froth emerges GOBLIN COCK, monstrous in its potency, grotesque, fully formed, vile and virile in its power. GOBLINS COCK's debut "Bagged and boarded" is the best rock record in years. This is not a side project. This is not ironic. Rob Crow is serious! It is by no means unlistenable to non-metal fans, but do be prepared for a real heavy sound with a good mix up of melodies. A must have album. This is the long awaited limited picture-disk version!
GOBLIN COCK
come with me if you want to live (2009/ROBCOP)
STONER/HEAVY-ROCK. GOBLIN COCK’s music may seem to be the latest manifestation in Rob Crow’s musical schizophrenia. After all, he’s hopped back-and-forth between BEACH BOYS-style pop to arena rock to electronica. But this album actually fits pretty logically into Crow’s career. It smacks of equal parts NEW PORNOGRAPHERS and JIMI HENDRIX - it’s noisy and bass-heavy, but its simplicity works in its favor. The music goes back to heavy-metal’s roots with a sense of humor. "come with me.." is incredibly bizarre and outrageous, but its goofiness and fantasy-style storytelling are lovable and completely accessible. For stoners and metalheads with a sense of humor and a love for massive phalluses, this album is the jewel in a goblin’s sword. It’s a massive, ridiculous joke - but it’s a joke you can rock out to.
GOD EQUALS GENOCIDE
rattled minds (2012/DIRT CULT)
PUNK-ROCK. After 5 years of splits, 7"s, and compilation tracks, GOD EQUALS GENOCIDE finally lay down a full-length record of all new material! GOD EQUALS GENOCIDE encapsulate the-over-the top fucktastic jackassery of having the time of your life with your friends while constantly getting pissed off by the state of the world. With unrelenting dual male and female vocals, thrashy riffage, fist-pumping melodies, and cowboy chord singalong breakdowns they provide a respite from the unoriginal and unenthused. GOD EQUALS GENOCIDE is a punk band. With melody - with shambolic, effervescent spirit. LP includes a bonus 7" from their alterego group, DUMBAG DARY.
GOD'S AMERICA
our bones will bleach in the sun (2013/A389)
POWER-VIOLENCE HARDCORE. Crushing and abrasive power-violence from Las Vegas. For fans of INFEST, PHOBIA and MAGRUDERGRIND. Vinyl is limited to 200 items and includes a digital download card.
GODFLESH
hymns (2013/MUSIC ON VINYL)
INDUSTRIAL/AMBIENT-METAL. Hailing from Black Sabbath's stomping grounds of Birmingham, England, GODFLESH are sometimes respectfully labeled as Sabbath's younger sibling. On their 7th and final studio album "hymns" from 2001, the undisputed leaders of British industrial-metal return to a lean line up of guitar, bass and a human drummer. Adding more variety to the mix, guitarist and band leader Justin Broadrick occasionally sings without a distorted grunt on a number of songs. This doesn't mean the band have lightened up or lost their brutal, pessimistic outlook. Their authentic sound still presents you with angst, coldness and a mechanical feel, and overall the band sounds in better shape than ever. "hymns" is finally available on vinyl (180gr) for the 1st time with remastered audio and an exclusive bonus track!
GODFLESH
love and hate in dub (2007/KREATION)
AMBIENT-DUB. NEVER before on vinyl. One of the only GODFLESH albums not to have a vinyl release yet. Heavy and dark dub remixes of the tracks from the album "Songs of love and hate". The 1st ever dub remix album of a metal record. Pre-JESU "heavy ambient dub and nasty, paint-peeling drum 'n' bass. The result is a more lithe, slithery redivision of GODFLESH's doomy metallic murk, some tracks echoing with deep, bassy drones, others pummeling away with odd rhythmic timbres and quasi-jungular patterns.
GODS AND QUEENS
s/t (2008/ADAGIO 830)
POST/INDIE-ROCK. On GODS AND QUEENS' debut, washes of reverb collide with echoes of shoegazer's catchier moments. There's mature inconsistency here - or, in other words: fast songs, slow songs, and one droning psychedelic blissfest. GODS AND QUEENS is a three-piece from Philadelphia who tried in vain to blatantly steal riffs and song patterns from some of their favorite bands - HOOVER, LUNGFISH, JUNE OF '44, SPACEMAN 3, and the like, but failed in every attempt. Instead, here are 7 untitled songs that in no way resemble who or what they were intended to mimic. GODS AND QUEENS plays an abnormally dark blend of indie/shoegazer/whatever-people-want-to-call-it. Colored vinyl comes with CD.
GODSPEED YOU BLACK EMPEROR
allelujah! don't bend! ascend! (2012/CONSTELLATION)
POST-ROCK. GODSPEED YOU BLACK EMPEROR picked up right where they left off, and after almost 2 years of practicing, playing and touring, "allelujah! don't bend! ascend!" delivers 2 mighty sides of music (bookended by 2 new drones) that the band had been working up prior to their 2003 hiatus, which they have now shaped into something definitively stunning, immersive and utterly true to their legacy. The future looks dark indeed, but on the evidence of this new recording, GODSPEED YOU BLACK EMPEROR appears wholly committed to staring it down, channeling it, and fighting for some rays of sound (and flickers of light) that feel righteous, unflinching, hopeful and pure. LP is pressed on 180gr vinyl and comes in a tipped-on heavyweight gatefold jacket printed in full-color process plus a spot metallic ink and spot matte varnish. Package includes a 7" in printed dust sleeve and a 12" x 48" pull-out poster.
GODSPEED YOU BLACK EMPEROR
f#a#8 (1997/CONSTELLATION)
POST-ROCK. This is the 1st recorded document of GODSPEED YOU BLACK EMPEROR as a large band and is soaring, fragile, awkward, heartbreaking stuff. Constellation released a vinyl-only pressing of 500 copies in August 1997, with LP jackets hand made by the label, the band, and various local artisans. It has since gone through dozens of re-presses, with virtually all of the original packaging elements preserved.
GODSPEED YOU BLACK EMPEROR
lift your skinny fists like antennas to heaven (2000/CONSTELLATION)
POST-ROCK. Four seamless sides of vinyl unfold a world of aching sadness and beauty, with musical quotes ranging from heartland americana to mitteleuropa folkways, all distilled through the unique sonic filters of GODSPEED YOU BLACK EMPEROR's pedal-crazy orchestral rock instrumentation. Harrowing guitars, plaintive strings, pulsing basses and explosive drums combine with glockenspiels, horns and tape drones to form an overwhelming palette of sounds, always driven by fierce melodic momentum and intense emotional resonance.
GODSPEED YOU BLACK EMPEROR
slow riot for new zero kanada (2002/CONSTELLATION)
POST-ROCK. The 2nd vinyl-only release from GODSPEED YOU BLACK EMPEROR contains 2 long songs, and sets the bar for the sprawling compositions that would characterise the group in the years to follow. Side-a is cut at 45rpm and features "moya", a broiling cascade of upward scales that repeatedly explodes beyond its own threshold. "bbf3" on side-b clocks in at 18min., and was the band's most lyrical, multi-movement music to date - more elaborated melodic figures wind around an angry spoken-word field recording (infamously culminating in the recital of the speaker's poem - verses lifted straight from IRON MAIDEN).
GODSPEED YOU BLACK EMPEROR
yanqui u.x.o. (2002/CONSTELLATION)
POST-ROCK. "u.x.o." is unexploded ordnance is landmines is cluster bombs. "yanqui" is post-colonial imperialism is international police state is multinational corporate oligarchy. GODSPEED YOU BLACK EMPEROR is complicit is guilty is resisting. The album is just raw, angry, dissonant, epic instrumental rock. Recorded by Steve Albini in Chicago. Double vinyl comes on thick 180gr.
GODSTOMPER / GORGONIZED DORKS
split (2007/AGROMOSH)
GRINDCORE. Power-violence veterans GODSTOMPER battle it out with Southern California's noisecore weirdos GORGONIZED DORKS! GODSTOMPER serve up 8 tracks of drum and bass mayhem, while GORGONIZED DORKS pummel you with 26 tracks of nihilistic thrash destruction. Includes an insert with lyrics, not to mention a very psychedelic looking front cover. This blast is strictly limited to 1000 copies on!
GODSTOPPER
what matters (2013/ANTHEMS OF THE UNDESIRABLE)
SLUDGE/NOISE-METAL. "what matters" was originally available from the band in limited cassette and CDR format and is now available for the 1st time on vinyl. GODSTOPPER is a Toronto four-piece formed by Mike Simpson (COLUMN OF HEAVEN) playing an amalgamation of sludge and noise-rock bringing to mind acts like TODAY IS THE DAY, KHANATE, and THE MELVINS without eschewing notions of melody or pop song structure. This album is heavy, creepy, and unlike just about anything else going on. Limited edition of 500 copies.
