LAWRENCE ARMS
buttsweat and tears (2009/FAT WRECK)
PUNK-ROCK. Over the past 10 years, through a battery of booze-fueled shows and enduring releases, The LAWRENCE ARMS have etched their name into annals of punk-rock history. After a brief hiatus, the band recently recorded some brand new material to both commemorate their 10th anniversary and satiate the growing hunger of their fans.
LAWRENCE ARMS
the greatest story ever told (2003/FAT WRECK)
PUNK-ROCK. Sticking with their time tested, two vocalist approach, the band delivers yet another impassioned, and melodic punk rock album. In true form, The LAWRENCE ARMS lead the listener through a schizophrenic, alcohol induced musical adventure. Within this synthesis of high art and lowbrow comedy, the trio make lyrical reference (foot notes and all) to pop culture, the arts, and literature.
LE KID & LES MARINELLIS
les jolies filles (2012/P. TRASH)
GARAGE/PUNK-ROCK. With their debut 7", LE KID & LES MARINELLIS from Montreal, Canada come out of nowhere and suprised the hell out of a lot of people. Think about the 1st time you heard a band like REAL KIDS and you're on the right track. Their LP is a perfect intersection of stoney '60s psych aka DEMON'S CLAWS, CHOCOLAT and GENITAL HOSPITAL with a wild hypnotize garage-punk sound like JACK O' FIRE, REAL KIDS or DIRTBOMBS. The french lyrics are sung like the young Mick Jagger.
LE KRAKEN
exil (2012/VENDETTA)
POST-HARDCORE/METAL. Hard-hitting (post-)sludge from Montreal, Canada. LE KRAKEN creates a thick wall of pounding riffs, drums and depraved vocals. A dirty, fuzzed out sound that goes perfectly with this kind of music. Think early ISIS, GODFLESH and NEUROSIS playing heavy epic progressive-minded hardcore with some epic crust-metal parts ala BURIED INSIDE or TRAGEDY. LE KRAKEN stand out just for sheer power, injecting plenty of furious crusty heaviness and bleak atmosphere into their doomed riffing and slow-building eruptions of metallic moodiness.
LEADERSHIT / DERROTA
split (2007/BE-PART)
HARDCORE-PUNK. LEADERSHIT should be already know from their 1st full-length album. Former members used to play in DISFACE, EKKAIA, COP ON FIRE and several other bands. This split contains yet again a heavy dose of traditional crust-hardcore with dark melodies, rocking bites and (old)metal slash thrown in. DERROTA on the flipside playing 6 tracks of hard hitting d-beat with a twist of deathrock 'n' roll, including a nice MISFITS coverversion.
LEARN NOTHING
s/t (2008/DEAD END)
HARDCORE. With a fast, hard, dark and heavy hardcore sound, Orlando's LEARN NOTHING take cues from bands like THINK I CARE, LEFT FOR DEAD and even INTEGRITY on this debut 6 track 7". This record perfectly captures all the anger and hopelessness that makes hardcore great, spitting venom at everything from employers to society with a certain hardheaded charm.
LEATHER
s/t (2012/SKELETON HEAD)
HARDCORE. Philadelphia's LEATHER is making a name for themselves playing noisy, aggressive hardcore-punk. Previous releases on Caesar Cuts, Fan Death, and Jade Tree Records are getting rave reviews and are either sold-out or increasingly hard to find. This 7" brings it all back to the beginning by releasing the band's 1st recordings from 2009. Originally self-released on cassette, it's thrashy and magnificent like a messy mix of BAD BRAINS, PISSED JEANS, and BLACK FLAG. The packaging is with hand-screened silver ink on black cover stock with black inner sleeve and clear vinyl. Limited edition of 500 copies.
LEATHERFACE
dog disco (2004/BYO)
PUNK-ROCK. LEATHERFACE is one of the most influential bands to emerge from England in the early '90s. With "dog disco" LEATHERFACE is back in true form. Combining all the raw energy and grit from early albums, with the free flowing sounds that gave them their maturity on recordings from the B.Y.O. split series with HOT WATER MUSIC. They're sound has been borrowed, stolen, and emulated from the new generation of emotional bands, and whether they know it or not, one of the main influences of their sound.
LEATHERFACE
horsebox (2011/BYO)
PUNK-ROCK. "horsebox" from 2000 got already repressed on vinyl. Frankie Stubbs has delivered another manifesto of emotional overload, of vocal heart meltdown on record for a solid 47min.. "horsebox" is another stunning achievement of brain, brawn, guts, pathos and liquid fire. Even without the gut-wrenching cover of NICK CAVE's "ship song", it's clear these guys don't just pummel you senseless - they flat out know how to play, and Stubbs writes and arranges in an extremely mature manner that feels more complex the more you hear the individual parts.
LEATHERFACE
the stormy petrel (2010/NO IDEA)
PUNK-ROCK. It’s a tall order to describe Leatherface in a single paragraph, given the seemingly monumental footprint they’ve left on our little world of punk-rock. Over 2 decades ago, LEATHERFACE helped revolutionize melodic punk. Renowned for Stubbs’ weathered yet melodic rasp and soaring Gordon Smith guitars, LEATHERFACE champion the working stiff above all else, a testament to their Sunderland heritage and unflinching perseverance. This record gets LEATHERFACE back on track after several years, putting them back up on the top of the melodic-punk totem pole. Colored vinyl includes MP3 download code.

LEATHERFACE
viva la arthouse (2011/MAJOR LABEL)
PUNK-ROCK. "viva la arthouse" celebrates LEATHERFACE's 2010 world tour that took in Japan, Europe, USA, Canada and Australia in support of their latest studio album. As well as featuring newer favourites from "the stormy petrel" and "dog disco" albums, the set list that night was also packed full of LEATHERFACE classics, stretching back to songs from "fill your boots", "mush" and plenty in between. "viva la arthouse" is more than just a live album by LEATHERFACE at their blistering best, it's also a recording that perfectly captures the energy, warmth and community that made
LEBENSREFORM
licht + luft + leben (1996/PER KORO)
HARDCORE. * WAREHOUSE FOUND * Limited potato-stamped (with [LEI] print) covers available! LEBENSREFORM from Hamburg, Germany were a mighty impressive band. Do not let you divert by the keyword straight-edge. "licht + luft + leben", their 1st 7" release feature 6 full on power mayhemic, intense, outbursting northcore-attacks. They combine '90s new-schoolish straight-edge hardcore with INFEST-stylish sound. This one is ugly, intense and has nothing in common with their polished and sober artwork. Highly recommend and a german 7" classic already! [PK #016]
LECHEROUS GAZE
bagagazo (2012/WHO CAN YOU TRUST)
METAL/HARD-ROCK. Like the prow of a mighty ship cutting through a sea of turd, LECHEROUS GAZE carry on the legacy of bands like the MC5 and BLACK FLAG to bring dangerously heavy-rock back to the masses. These dudes are serious. Former and current members of bands such as: ANNIHILATION TIME, WITCH, SAVIOURS and CHAR MAN, with the combined experience points of over half a century of rocking, you knows these dudes aren’t some flash in the pan, pussy-shit fad band. This is the heavy shit, start saving for rehab, loser. Limited edition of 400 items.
LECHEROUS GAZE
born on a river (2012/D.I.Y.)
