Dark and stirring but still soaring, concise and cheery. On the flipside SCOLD FOR WANDERING plays traditional and typical French screamo-hardcore with some post-rock hints, and epic influences in the vein of DAITRO, MHAI EDRISH. Melodic but still heavy.

AMBIENT. The latest release on Born Bad is a totally legit reissue of a super rare tape with aggressive minimal synth and ambient record by STEPHAN EICHER entitled "spielt noise boys" . STEPHAN EICHER recorded these tracks when he was a student in Switzerland on a dictaphone with stolen material from a bar in Bern where he worked. This record includes all 7 songs from the rare tape from 1980, only 25 copies where made. On the 7" from Off Course from 1980 where only 5 songs. Nice insert both in french and english. This is typical early proto-industrial throb of DAF and the confrontational buzz of SUICIDE's 1st record and it's definitely recommended for those fans.

INDIEROCK. Das Quartett aus San Diego hat in drei Jahren Bandgeschichte bereits 2 Alben veroeffentlicht, die auf dem kleinen Earthling Label veroeffentlicht wurden. Auf diesem Release gibt es nun eine Art 'Best Of' dieser beiden Releases. Beginnt die Scheibe noch eher schmutzig garagerockig (aber dennoch melodioes) mit ''New situation'', so wird schon beim zweiten Song ''Stars'' der Popanteil stark nach oben geschraubt. ''I drink'' klingt danach wie eine moderne Ausgabe der BEATLES und mit ''Outside'', ''Almost lost'' und dem ruhigeren ''I know now'' gibt es drei folkige Tracks mit schoenen Hintergrundchoeren, harmonischen Gesangsmelodien und akustischer Gitarre. ''Unsure'', ''The night before'', ''Come to say hello'' und ''Dirty sheets'' klingen sowohl musikalisch, wie aus stimmlich sehr nach den STROKES und ''Try me'', sowie der Ueberhit ''Women in magazines'' sind treibende und sonnige Songs mit ordentlichem Britpop-Touch. Fuer Fans von hochmelodischem Indierock ein absolutes Highlight. Die Platte kommt in 180gr. schwerem Vinyl und mit bedruckter Innenhuelle, die CD im schoen aufgemachten Digipack.
