SUNDOWNERS
s/t (7/DIRT CULT)
PUNK-ROCK. Follow up to their great (and extremely underappreciated) full-length LP on Dirt Cult a few years ago, SUNDOWNERS play hooky punk for fans of bands like FROZEN TEENS, FUTURE VIRGINS, and THE BANANAS. This is somehow better than the LP.
SUNN O)))
00 void (2012/SOUTHERN LORD)
DRONE/NOISE-ROCK. "00 void" was originally released in 2000 by Hydra Head and Rise Above. They have been out-of-print for approximately 8 years now. The record has now come back home to its proper resting place via Southern Lord. "00 void" (also known as "double-0 void) was the 2nd album recorded by SUNN O))), with the 2 core members being joined by the bassist of BURNING WITCH/GOATSNAKE, a violinist, and Pete Stahl of GOATSNAKE and SCREAM for vocal duties - a true doom masterpiece. Comes with heavy gatefold-cover and thick 180gr vinyl.
SUNN O)))
domkirke (2008/SOUTHERN LORD)
DRONE/NOISE-ROCK. The dark lords of doom are back, make no mistake and this time they have taken their sound even further into the annals of religious history performing in an old church in the Norwegian city of Bergen. This, is surely, the definition of epic. This DoLP live set, recorded in a Cathedral, was commissioned by Nicholas Mollerhaug, who asked SUNNO O))) to create a piece of music referring to the gothic gregorian hymns of the Late Middle Ages. Sure it might not show the band taking giant leaps in terms of sound, but there's simply nobody else out there nailing the drone sound quite like SUNN O))), and to hear them making this sacrifice to their Norwegian forebears is a grim pleasure from beginning to end. Apparently the record is going to be released on vinyl only, and past the initial pressing is never going to be reissued, so if you want one of these you'd better be quick, like everything SUNN O))) related it's not going to be around for long!

SUNN O)))
monoliths & dimensions (2009/SOUTHERN LORD)
DRONE/NOISE-ROCK. SUNN O))) is proud to present their 7th studio album, after 10 years of existence, entitled "monoliths & dimensions". The album is not SUNN O))) with strings or metal meets orchestra material. The band took an approach concentrating on more of allusion toward the timbre of feedback and the instruments involved, so the piece is really illusory, beautiful and not entirely linear, stating that the end product is the most musical piece they’ve done, and also the heaviest, powerful and most abstract set of chords they’ve laid to tape. The albums jacket is a heavy-weight cardboard tip-on style that contains 2 printed inner-sleeves and a fold out poster. This jacket is then encased by a printed velum dust jacket that resembles a dust jacket you would find on a hardcover book.

SUNNY DAY REAL ESTATE
diary (2009/SUB POP)
EMO/INDIE-ROCK. This debut full-length from SUNNY DAY REAL NESTATE is one of the most important and most genre-defining in the history of the "emo" scene, and now, is not only remastered with 2 rare bonus tracks, but is also once again available on vinyl. Gnarled guitars and nakedly emotional vocals with a hint of melodic grunge. Arguably the definitive '90s emo album, and an indispensable introduction to the genre. Colored vinyl version includes a digital download card.
SUNNY DAY REAL ESTATE
s/t (2009/SUB POP)
EMO/INDIE-ROCK. Recorded and released after they broke up, this record is often overlooked, but carries on the emotional mood of "diary" and, like "diary" has been remastered, given 2 rare bonus tracks and reissued on vinyl. This is a masterpiece of emotion and evocation, this is a sprawling musical soundscape that moves effortlessly from tender, unsteady sonic explorations to raging assaults of guitars. Vinyl version includes a digital download card.
SUNPOWER
bondage (2010/GORILLA)
HARDCORE. "bondage" by Belgium's SUNPOWER was recorded in 2 days, as a punk record should be and gives 10 new songs. Don't expect any weird chord progressions - what you could expect of SUNPOWER is hardcore reminding of bands like DEAD KENNEDYS, MINOR THREAT and ANGRY SAMOANS, played with furious energy and fast paced lyrics that deal with subjects as Guantanamo Bay, rednecks and leather boots. "bondage" is the 3rd record of SUNPOWER and, as cliché as it might sound, their most mature to date.
SUNSHINE SS
teen choice (2012/SACRED PLAGUE)
HARDCORE-PUNK. The 2nd 7" from Asheville, NC punkers. This time they bring a 7" explaining the genius of never letting go of a teenage mentality. SSSS play an early '80s hardcore influenced punk with somewhat snotty vocals, and steer away from the traditionally anarcho-post-society mythology that's become traditional for Asheville, and focus more on classic punk subjects like being "banned from the record store" and generally losing the will to do anything. Fucked up bolt punk played by grown-ups.
SUPER FRISKY
for buddy (2012/BURAI CORE)
HARDCORE-PUNK. SUPER FRISKY is from Tokyo, Japan. In the beginning it was a band named BUCK WHEAT and the members were from AKUTARE, JUDGEMENT, TETSU ARREY and PAINTBOX. After Chelsea from PAINTBOX regrettably passed away, Keiro (AKUTARE/TETSU ARREY) joined and it became SUPER FRISKY. They're playing a rockish hardcore-punk in typical japanese tradition. Vinyl includes a digital download card.
SUPERBAD
s/t (2008/TORTURE GARDEN)
GRINDCORE. Demolishing debut release from these Portland grindcore crusaders featuring guest vocals by Dan of SPAZZ. Ten shredding cuts of tight (but not too tech) violent grindtunes that reference DISCORDANCE AXIS mixed with power-violence accents similar to CAPITALIST CASUALTIES, PLUTOCRACY and the like. Contains members of FALL OF THE BASTARDS, FALLING OVER DRUNK and others. Limited to 666 copies!
SUPERHELICOPTER
deutschland (2008/P. TRASH)
GARAGE-PUNK. Originally, this 7'' came as a bonus for the first 100 copies of the "sweet, nice and happy" LP by these German garage-punk pioneers in 2005. Now, P. Trash decided to make this gem available again for all those unlucky bastards that didn't catch one. You'll get 2 killer tracks in German on the a-side and a silkscreen on the flipside with the motive of the LP cover in either gold or silver!
SUPERMACHINER
rise of the great machine (2008/E-VINYL)
POST-ROCK. SUPERMACHINER originally began as a collection of 4 track recordings by J. Bannon, recorded in 1994. The music was much different than CONVERGE, having more in common with influences SWANS, BAUHAUS, and others. The project remained nameless and dormant for a number of years. With the help and inspiration of his good friend Ryan (DALTONIC, BLACK SPOT, etc.), they casually brought the project back to life in the winter of 1998. With his input, they developed collective song ideas into the "rise of the great machine" album. The original "rise of the great machine" CD was released in 2000 (now out of print). After the album was released future projects were planned but never materialized. E-Vinyl in France has released a one time pressing of the original "rise of the great machine" album, as a deluxe DoLP, limited to 1000 copies.
SUPERSLEUTH
(0/)
Melodic, fast-tempoed hardcore out of Naperville, IL. Supersleuth continue to fuse 80's hardcore and straight ahead punk into a tight, fast mix. Compared to No For An Answer, Avail, and Mouthpiece, but not exactly like any of them. Their sound (especially live) is full of energy, plus the lyrics are insightful and intelligent. To meet them, you'd never guess they were a hardcore band, but that's the point - four average guys playing their asses off for their love of music, not to fit a certain label or sound. With almost four years together, Supersleuth is definitely a band to watch out for.
SUPERSLEUTH
..and still it beats (2000/UNDERESTIMATED)
MELODIC-HARDCORE. SUPERSLEUTH's sophmore full-length effort, they play fast, energetic, melodic hardcore. This is definitely their best release to date, and after 5 years together "...and still it beats" showcases all of their hard work that they've put into the band.
SUPERSUCKERS
